Seattle Seahawks Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Seahawks S Julian Love (hamstring), Edge Derick Hall (foot), and Edge Boye Mafe (knee) are active for tonight's game against the 49ers. All should be ready for planned IDP usage.

Seahawks S Julian Love (thigh) is active for today's game against the Giants, as expected. Edge Boye Mafe (knee) is inactive. It'll be his second straight game missed. Missing Mafe doesn't hurt Seattle as a team D play in a high-upside matchup, though.

Seahawks LB Jerome Baker is inactive for tonight's game against the Lions because of a hamstring injury. He entered the day questionable but managed just one limited practice after missing last week's game. Rookie Tyrice Knight should get a second straight start in his place. Knight played just 57% of snaps a week ago but can be an emergency fill-in for IDP lineups.

Seattle's starting LBs Tyrel Dodson and Jerome Baker are both active for today's game against the Patriots. Both players turned up questionable but should be ready for regular IDP use in a solid matchup.

The Seahawks have activated LB Jerome Baker and LB Tyrel Dodson from the physically unable to perform list. That should give both players plenty of time to get ready for their anticipated starting roles in a reworked defense.

The Seahawks have agreed to a three-year extension with S Julian Love that could be worth up to $36 million, according to Bob Condotta of the Seattle Times. The deal marks a significant increase on Love's average annual salary from the two-year, $12 million pact he signed with Seattle last offseason.

The Seahawks placed LB Jerome Baker on the active/physically unable to perform list to begin training camp. Baker is still working back from the Week 18 right wrist injury that required surgery. He didn't do much in spring workouts with his new team either.

Texas DT Byron Murphy landed with the Seahawks at the 16th spot in Round 1 of the NFL Draft. Murphy presents uncommon explosiveness and size for the position. He’s small, at 6’0.5 and 297 pounds. But Murphy also delivered 82nd-percentile or better results in the 10-yard split, 40-yard dash, vertical, and broad jump. He posted modest numbers in college, with highs of 8.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks in his third and final college season. But the athleticism gives him upside beyond that in the pros.

The Seahawks are hiring former Ravens DC Mike Macdonald as the new head coach, according to multiple reports. The 36-year-old becomes the league's youngest HC. He spent the past two years as DC for the Ravens after a year as DC under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan and seven prior seasons on the Baltimore staff. The Ravens led the league in scoring defense, sacks, and takeaways in 2023. They ranked among the top 9 in yards allowed and top 3 in points allowed in each season under Macdonald. We'll likely have to wait at least until he chooses an OC to find out more about Macdonald's offensive philosophy. He, of course, inherits a Seahawks team with plenty of passing-game upside but also a pair of second-round RBs. This will be an interesting offense to track through the offseason. For now, we're not altering fantasy outlooks for any Seattle players on this coaching news.

Seahawks CB Devon Witherspoon is inactive for today's game against the Titans. It'll be his second straight game missed for a hip injury. Seattle has listed him as questionable each time despite Witherspoon missing every practice each week. Perhaps that suggests he has a good shot at being ready for Week 17, but we'll have to track the rookie's progress.

Seahawks CB Devon Witherspoon (hip) and S Jamal Adams (knee) are inactive for tonight's game against the Eagles. That leaves Seattle's secondary without a pair of starters vs. one of the league's best WR duos and TE Dallas Goedert. Unless Philly QB Jalen Hurts is limited by his illness -- or the team goes run-heavy -- it should be a fine-to-good night for the Eagles' passing game.

The Seahawks list CB Devon Witherspoon (hip) and S Jamal Adams (knee) as questionable for Monday night's game against the Eagles. Each guy missed the entire practice week, though. HC Pete Carroll told reporters he's "hoping" Witherspoon will play. But he gave no further indication of how likely Witherspoon or Adams is to play. if you'd be left with an empty lineup spot, then you should probably go another direction with your IDP lineup today. We'll update both players ahead of Monday's game.

Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks (ankle) is active for today's game against the 49ers. He carries some risk after managing just one limited practice this week. But Brooks is available for IDP lineups if you planned to use him.

Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers. Brooks managed just a single limited practice this week (Friday). HC Pete Carroll said Friday that Brooks will be a game-time decision. We'll check his status Sunday.

Seahawks S Jamal Adams (knee) is inactive for today's game against the Rams. That should mean starter-level playing time for S Julian Love. We've dumped Adams from the Week 11 DB rankings and given Love a big boost.

Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks (hamstring) is active for today's game against the Commanders. He missed the week's first two practices before returning to a full Friday workout and winding up questionable. Brooks is ready for IDP usage if you waited on him, though.

Seahawks LB Jordyn Brooks (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Commanders. HC Pete Carroll said Friday, however, that "there's a really good chance" Brooks will play, according to John Boyle of the team website. We'll confirm Brooks' status on Sunday. Make sure you have an insurance option available.

The Giants are trading DL Leonard Williams to the Seahawks for a second-round pick in 2024 and a fifth-rounder in 2025. Williams certainly helps a Seattle D-line that recently lost Uchenna Nwosu for the season. There's probably not much fantasy impact here, though. Williams sits outside the top 80 D-linemen in fantasy points so far and ranks 19th among interior D-linemen in Pro Football Focus pass-rushing grade.

Seahawks LB Bobby Wagner missed practice Wednesday and Thursday with an ankle injury. It's a bit surprising given that Wagner didn't miss a single snap of Sunday's win over the Cardinals. We'll see about his status in Friday's practice and whether the team gives him a game status on the final injury report.
