Jimmy Garoppolo Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (back) did not practice on Wednesday. While he reportedly dodged a major injury in last week's game vs. the Patriots, Garoppolo doesn't seem particularly likely to play against the Bears this weekend. We'll see if he's able to get back on the practice field tomorrow.

Raiders HC Josh McDaniels said Monday that QB Jimmy Garoppolo “dodged a big bullet” with regard to internal injuries, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. “The prognosis is a lot better than it might otherwise have been,” McDaniels added. Garoppolo is still undergoing further testing, and his status for Sunday's game vs. the Bears is uncertain.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 14 of 22 attempts for 162 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT apiece in the first half of Week 6 vs. the Patriots. Unfortunately, the veteran was ruled out at halftime after sustaining a back injury. QB Brian Hoyer came in relief to finish the contest. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Garoppolo was taken to a local hospital for precautionary tests on his back. It’ll be crucial to follow the injury reports this week to determine if Garoppolo will be healthy enough to suit up in Week 7 vs. the Bears.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo left Sunday’s game in the first half with a back injury. He’s doubtful to return. With Aidan O'Connell inactive, Brian Hoyer will play the second half for Vegas.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo completed 22 of 31 attempts for 208 passing yards with 1 TD and INT apiece in Week 5 vs. the Packers. He did just enough in the contest to crack double-digit fantasy points but was otherwise his typical boring, game-manager self. Next up on the agenda is a Week 6 matchup vs. the Patriots.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo has cleared concussion protocol. He was a full participant in Friday's practice and is on track to return for Monday night's game vs. the Packers.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) was limited in Thursday's practice. So he's made some progress through the protocol but still has work to do to be cleared for Monday night's game vs. the Packers. We'll keep you updated on Garoppolo's status over the next few days.

Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers tallied just 2 grabs for 33 yards in Week 4. He had a 50-yard downfield catch negated by an offensive pass interference penality, but the real issue here was shaky play from rookie QB Aidan O’Connell. On the bright side: Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) should return for Week 5 vs. Green Bay. Meyers notched 29.1 and 15.5 PPR points in two full games with Garoppolo.

The Raiders have downgraded QB Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) to out for Sunday's game against the Chargers. That means Brian Hoyer will start. It's obviously a downgrade for WRs Davante Adams and Jakobi Meyers. Adams, though, delivered a 7-153-2 receiving line in Jarrett Stidham's first start last year after Derek Carr got benched. And he added a decent 5-73 the following week. So don't treat either player as though he's suddenly unusable, especially against a Chargers D that's already been bad and will now miss stars Joey Bosa and Derwin James. Check our Week 4 WR rankings to see where both settle.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday but still has multiple stages of the protocol to clear in order to play on Sunday. We'll continue to keep you updated on his progress, but there's a good chance that we see QB Brian Hoyer under center for Vegas this week.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. So he's made some progress through the protocol but still has multiple stages to clear in order to play vs. the Chargers. We'll get another update on his progress tomorrow.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He has a long way to go to be cleared for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. QB Brian Hoyer is expected to start if Garoppolo can't. That'd be a significant downgrade for Vegas' pass-catchers.

Raiders QB Jimmy Garoppolo is in the concussion protocol, HC Josh McDaniel said Monday. That leaves Garoppolo no better than 50/50 to play vs. the Chargers this weekend. QB Brian Hoyer is No. 2 on Vegas' depth chart; rookie QB Aidan O'Connell No. 3
