Kareem Hunt Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

A source tells insider Mary Kay Cabot that Browns RB Kareem Hunt could have returned from his ankle injury if needed in Sunday's win over the Ravens. That suggests that Hunt should be available for this coming Saturday's game vs. the Raiders. We'll track his practice participation this week.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt injured his left ankle in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. Baltimore and did not return. We'll look for an update on his status.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (calf) is active for tonight’s game vs. the Ravens. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said this morning that Hunt is expected to be “eased in” in his first action since Week 6.

The Browns have activated RB Kareem Hunt (calf) from IR. He's expected to return for Sunday night's game against the Ravens. Check our Week 12 RB rankings to see whether Hunt makes sense for your fantasy football lineup.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Friday that he expects RB Kareem Hunt (calf) to play vs. the Ravens on Sunday night. Hunt has been out since Week 6 but returned to practice this week. In 5 games alongside RB Nick Chubb this season, Hunt has averaged 11.0 carries and 4.2 targets to Chubb's 18 carries and 1 target. Expect a similar workload split this weekend.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (calf) has been designated to return from IR. That means he'll return to practice this week, but it doesn't necessarily mean he'll play vs. the Ravens on Sunday night. We'll keep an eye on Hunt's progress over the next few days. Cleveland would need to activate him by 4 pm ET on Saturday if he's going to play vs. Baltimore.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski expects to get RB Kareem Hunt (calf) back at practice this week and is "hopeful" he'll be able to play vs. the Ravens on Sunday. Hunt has been sidelined since Week 6. Once healthy, he should return to a significant role behind RB Nick Chubb in what will continue to be a run-centric Cleveland offense.

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski said Wednesday that RB Kareem Hunt (calf) is "getting close" to returning. Hunt won't play in Sunday's game vs. the Lions, Stefanski said, but it sounds like a Week 12 return is possible. We'll keep you updated.

The Browns placed RB Kareem Hunt (calf) on IR. It's confirmation that he'll miss at least the next 3 weeks. We'll see if Hunt is ready to go when first eligible in Week 10. In a corresponding move, Cleveland promoted RB John Kelly from the practice squad to the active roster for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos.

Update: HC Kevin Stefanski said Tuesday that Hunt is expected to miss in the “ballpark” of 4-6 weeks.

According to multiple reports, Browns HC Kevin Stefanski says RB Kareem Hunt will miss at least 3 weeks with the calf injury he suffered in the loss to Arizona. "Hopefully not much longer than that, but we'll see," he said, per ESPN's Adam Schefter. We'll see about Nick Chubb's status for Thursday night's game against Denver. He, of course, missed the Cardinals game with his own calf injury. If Chubb can't go, Cleveland will be down to D'Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton as backfield leaders. That would obviously mean touch-volume upside for both players. Just keep in mind that neither is likely to land in a workhorse role -- and that both are limited talents.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt injured his right leg in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals. He needed help getting off the field, putting no weight on that leg. We'll update his status when we know more.

Update: Hunt has been ruled out with a calf injury.

2:39pm EDT 10/17/21

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (wrist, knee) is active for today’s game against the Cardinals. HC Kevin Stefanski told NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero that Hunt is “beat up” -- but added that he’s still in for an expanded role with RB Nick Chubb (calf) out. Hunt is a RB1 in Week 6 fantasy lineups.

Here's NFL Network's Tom Pelissero on Browns RB Kareem Hunt's Week 6 status: "[HC] Kevin Stefanski told me RB Kareem Hunt (wrist/knee) is beat up, but he looked good in practice Friday and will get more work than usual today against the Cardinals with Nick Chubb (calf) out. Stefanski has a number of touches in mind." How's that for a mixed message? Hunt got in just 1 limited practice this week and is listed as questionable. It's clear from Pelissero's report that Hunt won't be at 100% today. But with Chubb out -- and D'Ernest Johnson and Demetric Felton Cleveland's only other RBs -- we're still expecting an expanded workload for Hunt.

Browns RB Kareem Hunt (wrist, knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Cardinals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday, although we haven't heard any concern about his status. Assuming those injuries aren't a limiting factor on Sunday, Hunt should get workhorse usage with RB Nick Chubb out.

12:30pm EDT 10/15/21

The Browns have ruled RB Nick Chubb out for Sunday's game against the Cardinals because of a calf injury. His absence obviously leaves room for Kareem Hunt to lead the backfield and hit the week as a RB1 across fantasy football formats. Demetric Felton will be involved as well, but he has been more receiver than RB so far, tallying 7 targets vs. 0 rushing attempts over the first 5 games. RB D'Ernest Johnson has logged 0 offensive snaps the past 2 weeks and in 3 of 5 games this year, but he'll likely be involved as well.

Browns RBs Nick Chubb (calf) and Kareem Hunt (knee, wrist) missed their 2nd straight practices on Thursday. This looks like a case of the Browns getting their 2 RBs some mid-week rest, but check back tomorrow for another update on the situation.

Chiefs RB Spencer Ware suffered a right knee injury in the 1st quarter of Friday night's game against the Chiefs. He left the field on a cart and the team quickly ruled him out for the game. That obviously doesn't bode well. Any missed time would deliver a huge boost to RB Kareem Hunt's fantasy outlook. Hunt was already sharing 1st-team work with Ware in the 3rd preseason contest. We'll keep an eye out for further updates.
