Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Cardinals LB Kyzir White left in the first half of Sunday's loss to the Packers with a knee injury and did not return. We'll watch for details on his outlook ahead of Arizona's Week 7 home date with the Chargers. Krys Barnes stepped in to play 74% of the defensive snaps against Green Bay, tying for fourth on the team. Mack Wilson led the LBs -- and ranked third among all defenders -- with 92% snap share.
Cardinals LB Kyzir White left Sunday's loss to the Texans with an elbow injury and did not return. That left Josh Woods and Krys Barnes as Arizona's top non-edge LBs. We'll watch for more on White's outlook. But Woods will be worth a look on waivers in deeper leagues ahead of Week 12.
Eagles insider Adam Caplan said this week that according to "multiple sources" and "my own eyes," LB Kyzir White was the best player on the field in joint practices with the Browns. White signed a 1-year deal in free agency with Philly, looks poised to start and appears to be the strongest candidate to lead the group in snaps. Rookie Nakobe Dean, meanwhile, remains behind at least T.J. Edwards. There's certainly room for Dean to climb the depth chart this season, but we'd pass on him in redraft outside of deep IDP leagues.
The Eagles have been running Kyzir White and T.J. Edwards as the top LBs with the 1st defense in training camp. Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that rookie Nakobe Dean worked in for some 1st-team snaps. The team is also reportedly experimenting with S K'Von Wallace taking some sub-package snaps. We'd bet the Eagles will continue using the preseason to settle out their defensive lineup. White looks like the best current bet to see full playing time among LBs. Dean's quick progression up the depth chart at Georgia -- along with his physical ability -- makes him a player worth betting on. Edwards would carry some IDP value if he hits the regular season as the #2 LB and appears headed for near-full playing time. We'll continue watching how the situation develops.
The Eagles have agreed to a 1-year deal with LB Kyzir White that can be worth up to $5 million, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. White led Chargers LBs in playing time last year, so his departure leaves opportunity in a corps that has seen former 1st-round LB Kenneth Murray disappoint through 2 seasons. The money he's getting in Philly doesn't guarantee full-time status, but it looks bigger than the $2.2 million, 1-year extension the Eagles gave T.J. Edwards in November. White looks like a good bet for 3-down duty vs. the current depth chart. We wouldn't be surprised to see Philly draft an early-round LB, though.
The Chargers have ruled LB Drue Tranquill out for Sunday's game at Baltimore with a chest injury. S Nasir Adderley is questionable with a hip injury. We'll update his status Sunday morning. Tranquill's absence should make Kyzir White a good bet to lead Chargers LBs in playing time and tackles.
Chargers LB Kenneth Murray suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's practice and is questionable for Monday night's game against the Raiders. A healthy Murray played just 51% of the snaps in Week 3, so he should be easy to leave out of your Week 4 IDP lineup. Kyzir White becomes a better play, after leading Chargers LBs in snaps last week.
