Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
The Raiders have placed S Johnathan Abram on IR for his season-ending left shoulder injury that will require surgery. Dallin Leavitt made his 1st NFL start in Abram's place Sunday against the Broncos, collecting just a single assist. The Raiders have also activated CB Nate Hobbs from the COVID list. His role could increase this week, depending on who else does or doesn't make it back from the COVID list in the Vegas secondary.
The Raiders on Monday added multiple defensive starters to the COVID list. LB Denzel Perryman and CB Casey Hayward were the biggest names. LB reserves Cory Littleton and K.J. Wright went onto the list as well, which already had CBs Brandon Facyson and Nate Hobbs on it. Hobbs has been on the list since Dec. 20 and Facyson since Dec. 22, so they should be back ahead of Sunday's game at Indianapolis. We'll see whether any of this week's additions can make it back. IDP managers should plan to be without Perryman, though. That absence would return Divine Deablo to the spotlight.
Raiders LB Denzel Perryman (ankle) is active for today's game against the Broncos. That should knock Divine Deablo out of the starting lineup.
Raiders LB Denzel Perryman is questionable for Sunday's game after returning for a pair of limited practices Thursday and Friday. Perryman missed the past 2 games with the injury. His return would push Divine Deablo back to a reserve role.
Raiders S Johnathan Abram left Monday night's game at Cleveland in the 2nd half with a shoulder injury. He's officially questionable to return.
The Raiders have ruled LB Denzel Perryman out for the 2nd straight game with his ankle injury. That should clear the way for rookie Divine Deablo to start in his place again. Deablo, a converted safety, has delivered double-digit tackles each of the past 2 weeks -- including the game Perryman left early with his injury. Deablo makes for a nice play in tackle-friendly IDP formats.
As expected, Raiders LB Denzel Perryman (ankle) is inactive for today's game against the Chiefs. He entered the day doubtful.
Raiders LB Denzel Perryman (ankle) is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Chiefs. LB Cory Littleton (shoulder) finished the week with no injury designation for the game, so he's good to go for Sunday.
Raiders LB Denzel Perryman left in the 2nd half of Sunday's loss to Washington with an ankle injury. We'll see about the severity heading into Week 14.
Raiders HC Jon Gruden is resigning, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. The move comes 3 days after the Wall Street Journal reported 10-year-old emails in which Gruden used racially offensive language in talking about DeMaurice Smith. Earlier today, the New York Times reported on other emails in which Gruden used racist and homophobic language. We'll see about the succession plan for the Raiders and how the players handle the transition, though we're not altering our fantasy outlook for any of the players.
Update: The Raiders have made assistant HC and special-teams coordinator Rich Bisaccia to interim HC. Bisaccia coached in Tampa for Gruden's entire stint there (plus another 2 years after Gruden left), then with the Chargers and Cowboys before re-joining Gruden with the 2018 Raiders.
Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) and DE Carl Nassib (pec, toe) are active for today's game against the Steelers. Each entered the day questionable. Ngakoue is in play for IDP use, but the hamstring certainly adds risk.
Raiders HC Jon Gruden is "optimistic" that DE Yannick Ngakoue will be able to play against the Steelers today. Ngakoue is questionable with a hamstring injury that knocked him out of Week 1 early and limited his practice participation all week. The fact that he was able to participate each day is encouraging, but there's obviously at least some risk of re-injury here. Ngakoue is in play for IDP lineups, but keep the risk in mind as you're making your decisions. He has settled into low DL3 territory in our Week 2 DL rankings.
Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's game at Pittsburgh. He left Week 1 early with the injury but managed limited practices all week. We'll check his status Sunday morning. DE Carl Nassib (pectoral, toe) is also questionable. He missed practice Wednesday before putting in limited Thursday and Friday workouts. The pair make up 2 of Las Vegas' top 3 at the position.
Raiders DE Yannick Ngakoue left with a hamstring injury in the 2nd half of Monday night's game against the Ravens. The team deemed him questionable to return, but he was standing on the sideline with no helmet. We'll see about the severity.
The Raiders made DE Clelin Ferrell inactive for the Monday-night game against Baltimore. Vegas' signing of DE Carl Nassib and then DE Yannick Ngakoue to sizable contracts the past 2 offseasons pointed to dissatisfaction with the position group. But this is a noteworthy step because the Raiders drafted Ferrell 4th overall just 3 years ago. Consider Ngakoue, Maxx Crosby and Carl Nassib locked in as the Raiders' top 3 edge players heading into the opener.
The Raiders have waived DE Bruce Irvin, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic. The nearly $4 million left on Irvin's contract might keep him from getting claimed, though interested teams with cap space could foot that bill now that they wouldn't have to surrender any draft capital in trade. Either way, expect the 31-year-old pass-rusher to get another shot somewhere this season. Whether he'll have a shot at IDP relevance will depend on the landing spot.
