Matthew Stafford Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (neck) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Seahawks. He's cleared the concussion protocol, HC Sean McVay said Friday, but is still dealing with the neck injury. McVay also announced Friday that QB John Wolford will get the start this weekend but that QB Bryce Perkins will also be available. The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue believes the Rams might use both QBs, which we saw back in Week 10. It's obviously a situation to avoid in fantasy lineups.

Rams HC Sean McVay confirmed that QB Matt Stafford (concussion, neck) is not expected to play vs. the Seahawks on Sunday. We'll see whether L.A. sticks with QB Bryce Perkins or goes back to QB John Wolford, but neither guy would be more than a low-end QB2 in fantasy football.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that the Rams are "uncertain when or if" QB Matthew Stafford will return this season. Stafford is out for today's game at Kansas City with a neck strain. He has also landed in the league concussion protocol twice, though HC Sean McVay says the 2nd concussion hasn't been confirmed. It's easy to forget that we were all concerned about an issue with Stafford's right elbow entering the season. Throw in his myriad physical issues and a 3-7 record -- which will almost certainly add a loss to the Chiefs -- and it would make sense to let Stafford take the rest of the year off.

Rams QB Matt Stafford is out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs, HC Sean McVay said. Stafford is in the concussion protocol and is being evaluated for a neck injury after experiencing numbness in his legs during last week's loss to the Saints. It certainly seems like Stafford could miss more time beyond Week 12. QB Bryce Perkins is in line to make his 1st career start on Sunday.

Pro Football Talk reports that Rams QB Matt Stafford has entered the concussion protocol. HC Sean McVay refused to say whether Stafford was in the protocol in his Monday press conference. But if this PFT report is correct, Stafford is a long shot to be cleared for Week 12 and might miss multiple games.

Rams HC Sean McVay said Monday that QB Matt Stafford is still being evaluated for a concussion and is uncertain for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs. "I think you wanna be really careful with that," McVay said. "It's gonna be about the person first and foremost." Considering he just sustained a concussion back in Week 9, we'd be surprised if Stafford played this weekend. His absence would leave the starting job to either QB John Wolford, who missed Week 11 with a neck injury, or QB Bryce Perkins.

Rams QB Matthew Stafford will undergo further testing on Monday to determine whether he'll enter the concussion protocol, according to the team. We'll update the situation when we know more. Stafford just sustained a concussion in Week 9.

Rams QB Matt Stafford headed back to the locker room to get checked for a concussion in the 3rd quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Saints. Stafford, of course, missed last week's game with a concussion. We'll update his status when we know more. QB Bryce Perkins has entered for Los Angeles, with QB John Wolford out with a neck injury.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) put in a full week of practice and isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll be back for Sunday’s game vs. the Saints but won’t have WR Cooper Kupp. That leaves Stafford as a low-end QB2 in fantasy lineups.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. He's evidently still in the protocol but is well on his way to being cleared for this weekend's game vs. the Saints.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday and figures to be cleared in plenty of time for Week 11. QB John Wolford makes his 2nd career start today. The 1st also came against Arizona at the end of the 2020 season. Wolford completed just 58% of his passes for 231 scoreless yards in that one but added 56 yards on 6 carries. He’s a low-end QB2 and an obvious downgrade for this passing game. See where Wolford and the rest of the Rams sit in the Week 10 Rankings.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport calls Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) a "long shot" to play against the Cardinals today. "Not ruled out yet, but not a great chance," Rapoport adds. Our current projections assume that QB John Wolford to be under center for the Rams today.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Rams QB John Wolford is expected to start Sunday's game vs. the Rams, barring a "drastic change." QB Matt Stafford remains in the concussion protocol. We've had Wolford projected to start since Thursday.

Rams QB Matt Stafford (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Cardinals. He returned to a limited practice on Friday, and HC Sean McVay said Stafford is making “good progress.” He still has multiple stages of the concussion protocol to clear, though, so consider Stafford 50/50 to play on Sunday. QB John Wolford will get the start if Stafford is out.
