Jets LB Quincy Williams left Sunday's loss to the Cowboys with a knee injury. HC Robert Saleh after the game would only say that Williams is being evaluated. We'll see about his status for Week 3 against the Patriots.
The Jets and LB Quincy Williams have agreed to a three-year, $18 million deal, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Incentives could push the total value to $21 million. Either way, it signals continued starter duty for Williams. And it's particularly noteworthy because Williams' playing time fluctuated each of the past two years. He closed out 2022 playing more than 80% of snaps in five of the final six games, including more than 90% in each of the final two. This contract makes it look like we can expect more of the same, which boosts the IDP outlook for the 26-year-old (until Aug. 28). Check out where Williams sits in our dynasty LB rankings after this boost.
Jets LB Quincy Williams (ankle) is out for Sunday's game against the Steelers. That likely means a playing-time boost for LB Kwon Alexander, who figures to operate 2nd to C.J. Mosley at the position.
Jets HC Robert Saleh revealed that LB Quincy Williams suffered a high-ankle sprain in Week 3 and is "week-to-week." That suggests we should not expect Willams to play this Sunday against the Steelers, which should mean starter-level snaps for LB Kwon Alexander.
Jets LB Quincy Williams left Sunday's loss to the Bengals with an ankle injury. If he misses further time, Kwon Alexander looks like the top candidate to join C.J. Mosley in starter-level playing time. We'll see about the diagnosis.
Jets LB Quincy Williams (calf) and DE John Franklin-Myers (hip) are active for today's game against the Eagles.
Jets LB Quincy Williams (calf) and DE John Franklin-Myers (hip) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Both players followed limited Wednesday and Thursday participation with a full Friday workout and should be ready to go. We'll confirm their statuses Sunday morning.
Jets LB C.J. Mosley left Sunday's game against the Dolphins for a concussion evaluation early in the 4th quarter and did not return. We have yet to see confirmation that he has entered the concussion protocol but will keep an eye out. LB Quincy Williams reclaimed his starting job from Jarrad Davis in the game and looks like a solid bet for playing time in the Week 12 visit to Houston.
The Jets entered Sunday's game against the Patriots with LB C.J. Mosley (hamstring) inactive and Jarrad Davis (ankle) not yet back from IR. The defense then watched LBs Jamien Sherwood (calf), Quincy Williams (concussion) and Blake Cashman (groin) leave the game. We'll have to watch the whole situation to see who's in for next Sunday's game against the Bengals. If healthy, Mosley should remain a full-time starter. Davis' return would complicate the outlook for Williams, though.
Jets HC Robert Saleh says he hopes to get LB Jarrad Davis back from IR after the Week 6 bye. Davis has been out since the preseason with an ankle injury. He was wearing the green dot and calling defensive plays before he went down, though. We'll see whether Davis can reclaim his job from Quincy Williams upon return.
