Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

11:42am EST 1/5/25

Patriots QB Drake Maye (right hand) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. We don’t expect the hand to be an issue today, but we could see Maye get pulled for fellow rookie QB Joe Milton at some point in this one. New England locks up the No. 1 overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft with a loss.

Patriots TE Hunter Henry (foot) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bills. That’d typically mean a bump in playing time for TE Austin Hooper, but New England might want to get a longer look at rookie TE Jaheim Bell in this meaningless game.

Eagles QB Kenny Pickett (ribs) is active for today’s game vs. the Giants. QB Tanner McKee is expected to get the start, though. It’s a situation to avoid in Week 18 fantasy lineups, especially with WRs A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith out.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Giants. Philadelphia is sitting most starters, but Goedert will get some playing time after missing the past four weeks. We’re expecting him to play limited snaps and would avoid him in fantasy lineups.

Eagles RB Will Shipley (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Giants. RB Kenneth Gainwell is the only other active RB for Philadelphia. Expect Shipley to get the ball plenty in this one. He cracks the top 25 in our Week 18 RB Rankings.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley, WR A.J. Brown, and WR DeVonta Smith are inactive for today’s game vs. the Giants. QB Jalen Hurts (concussion) was already ruled out of this meaningless game.

Saints TE Juwan Johnson (knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Bucs. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so Johnson carries more risk than usual in Week 18 fantasy lineups.

Saints RB Alvin Kamara (groin) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Buccaneers. He comes up 50 yards short of his first 1,000-yard rushing season. RB Kendre Miller (concussion) is also out, leaving the backfield to Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Jordan Mims, and Jamaal Williams. Edwards-Helaire is the best bet for touches but would be a desperation fantasy play. The Saints are 14-point underdogs.

Buccaneers WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is active for today’s game vs. the Saints. He should slide back in as Tampa Bay’s primary slot receiver but is a low-end fantasy play.

Buccaneers TE Cade Otton (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Saints. TEs Payne Durham and Devin Culp split playing time last week, so neither is a reliable Week 18 fantasy start.

Titans TE Chig Okonkwo (abdomen) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and did not practice on Friday, so there’s elevated risk to using Okonkwo in Week 18 fantasy lineups.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. He got in two limited practices this week and was listed as questionable, so it’s safe to assume he’s not at 100%. But Pollard needs 83 rushing yards to earn a $250,000 incentive and two rushing TDs for another $200,000. The Titans could push him to get there if that ankle holds up.

Ravens WR Zay Flowers will "likely" miss next week's Wild Card game with the knee injury he suffered in Saturday's win over the Browns, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. "It’s not considered a major injury, though there is a real chance he misses next week," Rapoport writes. "If Baltimore takes care of business, he could be back." Flowers is set for an MRI on Sunday, so we should learn more about his status soon. His absence would create more target opportunity for WR Rashod Bateman and TEs Mark Andrews and Isaiah Likely.

Steelers WR George Pickens had one catch for zero yards, including three drops, in a loss to the Bengals on Saturday. He had a chance to seal a victory, but missed a perfectly thrown ball by wilson. The Steelers were trying to win the game but their offensive woes continued. The Steelers head to the playoffs on a cold streak.

The Browns have fired OC Ken Dorsey, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Cleveland ranks 28th in yards and dead last in points through 17 weeks. Despite shoddy QB play, the Browns lead the league in pass attempts and pass rate. We'll see if HC Kevin Stefanski keeps his job for 2025.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (hip) is not expected to play vs. the Jets today and would be iffy for the Wild Card round if Miami qualifies, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tagovailoa is dealing with a "unique hip injury, which is affecting the surrounding muscles and therefore his strength and mobility, along with leaving him vulnerable to further injury," Rapoport writes. It's the same hip that Tagovailoa had surgically repaired while at Alabama in 2019. We'll see if QB Tyler Huntley can lead Miami to a win today. The Fins would also need a Broncos loss to the Chiefs to make the playoffs. It doesn't sound like Tagovailoa's hip injury is a long-term concern.

Falcons WR Darnell Mooney appears unlikely to play in Sunday's game against the Panthers. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that he's "considered a long shot ... not ruled out, but an uphill battle." We'll check the official status when inactives come out, but plan to leave Mooney out of your Week 18 lineups.

Titans RB Tony Pollard is expected to play Sunday against the Texans, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Pollard is officially questionable and missed the week's final practice. He should easily lead the backfield with Tyjae Spears (concussion) out, but his lingering ankle issue adds some risk. Julius Chestnut sits next in line for touches.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs was downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Bears due to an illness. He was not on the injury report all week, so it looks like he came down with something on Saturday. We'll look for further updates on Doubs' status and get Green Bay's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

The Eagles activated TE Dallas Goedert (knee) from IR. Philadelphia will rest most starters in Sunday's meaningless finale vs. the Giants, but it looks like they'll get Goedert at least some playing time for the first time since Week 13. Goedert still isn't a viable Week 18 fantasy play.
