Chig Okonkwo Will Play Week 9

Titans TE Chig Okonkwo (foot) is off the final Week 9 injury report. He was limited in Wednesday’s practice and sidelined on Thursday, but he returned for a full workout on Friday. Okonkwo should be ready for his usual role vs. the Chargers this weekend but has been ceding routes to TE Gunnar Helm lately. Neither guy is a recommended fantasy start.

Titans TE Chig Okonkwo (foot) went from a limited practice on Wednesday to no practice on Thursday. We don't have any details, but his status for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers seems uncertain. Okonkwo's absence would likely mean a playing-time boost for TE Gunnar Helm, although he'd still fall short of fantasy viability in this struggling Titans offense.

If you had to start Titans TE Chig Okonkwo in Week 5 -- or even if you just see his PPR score on your bench -- then you're probably pleased with his 4-48 receiving line. That marked a rebound from his 1-catch Week 4 and gives him three games of 4+ catches among the past four weeks. Those aren't big numbers, but they're solid for a TE whose rookie QB has completed just 51.8% of his passes through five weeks. But Sunday also featured a negative development for Okonkwo's fantasy outlook: the emergence of rookie TE Gunnar Helm.
