Dallas Goedert out for Week 12

Dallas Goedert out for Week 12

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (forearm) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Bills. Philadelphia is hoping to get him back for the Week 14 showdown vs. the Cowboys. TE Grant Calcaterra is also out for Week 12, leaving the Eagles with TEs Jack Stoll and Albert Okwuegbunam. Neither is a reliable fantasy play.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert (forearm) did not practice on Thursday. He's expected to miss about four weeks with his fractured forearm, so don't expect to see him out there for Monday night's showdown vs. the Chiefs. Goedert's absence leaves Philly with TEs Jack Stoll, Grant Calcaterra, and Albert Okwuegbunam. We'll see how those guys are deployed on Monday, but none can be trusted in Week 11 fantasy lineups.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, TE Albert Okwuegbunam is being traded from the Broncos to the Eagles in exchange for a late-round draft pick. Schefter noted that the Broncos intended to place the fourth-year player on waivers, "but before they officially turned his name into the league office, they got interest from the Eagles." Okwuegbunam is still far off the redraft radar, though this move takes his dynasty value off life support.

The Saints traded TE Adam Trautman plus a seventh-round NFL Draft pick to the Broncos for a sixth-rounder, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. It's noteworthy that HC Sean Payton's new team is acquiring a TE he drafted in New Orleans in 2020. Trautman's arrival crowds a TE room that already included Greg Dulcich, Albert Okwuegbunam, and journeyman Chris Manhertz. There's some potential for targets to get dispersed to the point that no Denver TE presents worthwhile fantasy value. But let's keep in mind that Trautman averaged just 20 receptions per season through three years after arriving in Round 3. That included just 18 catches for 207 yards last year. And then the team that drafted him sent him away for just a move up from Round 7 to Round 6 in the draft. Don't adjust your outlook for Broncos TEs just yet. You can check our numbers on the group now in our 2023 fantasy football TE rankings.

Broncos QB Russell Wilson scored twice on the ground in Sunday's 3-point loss to the Chiefs. He totaled 27 rushing yards on 4 carries, including the TDs from 16 and 4 yards out. Wilson added 222 yards and a TD (plus an INT) passing, finding TE Albert Okwuegbunam for a 25-yard score. WR Jerry Jeudy led the team in targets (8) and catches (7) but collected just 38 yards. WR Courtland Sutton followed with a 4-44 receiving line on 6 looks. Denver closes out vs. the Chargers at home in Week 18.
