Brandon Johnson Injury History & Analysis

The Steelers have placed WR Roman Wilson on IR for his hamstring injury. The rookie sustained the injury in the practice week leading up to the Week 7 win over the Jets. Wilson missed that game and has played just 5 snaps all year. He previously dealt with an ankle injury suffered before the season.

The Broncos placed WR Brandon Johnson (hamstring) on IR. Johnson has seemingly been standing in the way of a full-time role for WR Marvin Mims. But before you get too excited about the rookie, we need to tell you that Denver elevated WR Tre'Quan Smith from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Smith, of course, has a history with HC Sean Payton from their New Orleans days. We'll keep a close eye on Mims' usage vs. the Chiefs on Sunday, but he'd still be a total flier in Week 8 fantasy lineups.

He was added to the injury report on Thursday and then didn't practice on Friday, so he looks legitimately iffy for this one. Johnson isn't a fantasy factor, but his absence might force Denver to put WR Marvin Mims in something close to a full-time role.

Broncos WRs Courtland Sutton (hamstring) and Kendall Hinton (hamstring) are out for Sunday’s game vs. the Cardinals. That leaves some combination of WRs Brandon Johnson, Jalen Virgil, Freddie Swain and Montrell Washington behind WR Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy and TE Greg Dulcich should be the clear top 2 options in the passing game.
