Stroud's offensive line remains a big question mark heading into 2025, and it gets a tough test in Week 1 against a talented Rams pass rush. Stroud will also be without WR Christian Kirk, leaving Xavier Hutchinson and rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel behind Nico Collins. The Texans are implied for just 20.25 points in this one. Stroud is only an option in 2-QB and superflex leagues.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud (concussion) won't play vs. the Jaguars this weekend, HC Demeco Ryans said. Stroud didn't practice on Wednesday as he works through the protocol. He should have a good chance to make it back for Week 11, but it'll be QB Davis Mills under center for Houston against the Jaguars on Sunday. Mills completed just 57% of his passes at 4.6 yards per attempt in relief of Stroud last week, although that came against a tough Broncos defense. He was better in 26 starts across 2021 and 2022, posting a 63.6% completion rate and 6.6 yards per attempt. Mills is certainly a downgrade for the Texans offense, but at least WR Nico Collins should remain in fantasy lineups against a bad Jaguars secondary.

Texans QB C.J. Stroud suffered an apparent concussion in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Broncos. He took a big hit on a scramble and slammed his head against the turf. We'll update his status when we know more, but don't expect to see Stroud again today. QB Davis Mills is Houston's backup.

Update: Stroud has been ruled out with a concussion.
