Chiefs Fear Torn ACL For Rashee Rice

Underdog Fantasy's James Palmer reports that the Chiefs fear WR Rashee Rice tore his right ACL in the Week 4 win over the Chargers. Rice is scheduled for an MRI on Monday, but doctors can often accurately diagnose a torn ACL without scans. If confirmed, Rice's 2024 season would be over.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

This would be a massive loss for the Chiefs passing game. Rice easily led the team with 29 targets, 24 catches, and 288 yards through the first three games of the season.

QB Patrick Mahomes, who's already off to an underwhelming start from a fantasy perspective, could be in danger of falling out of QB1 territory without Rice.

TE Travis Kelce and WR Xavier Worthy would be the biggest beneficiaries of Rice's absence. The rest of the slack would be picked up by some combination of WRs JuJu Smith-Schuster, Justin Watson, Mecole Hardman, and Skyy Moore, plus TE Noah Gray. We'll have more on this group throughout the week, but none will be a priority add on the waiver wire.

WR Marquise Brown is expected to miss the entire regular season with his shoulder injury.
