Bills TE Dalton Kincaid managed just two catches for 34 yards in the Week 5 loss to the Texans. He tied for the team lead with six targets for a 20% share. But QB Josh Allen posted a career-worst 30% completion rate, including connecting on just two of six passes to Kincaid.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Kincaid has now finished with between 33 and 47 yards in four straight games. He's still looking for his first TD of the season.
While it could be worse (see: Mark Andrews), it certainly hasn't been what drafters were looking for when they spent an early pick on Kincaid.
There is some good news:
- Kincaid has averaged 6.0 targets per game on a 20.2% share over the past three weeks.
- Kincaid's 78% route rate vs. Houston was his highest mark since Week 1.
- He got more downfield action this week, registering 98 air yards. (He had 88 air yards through the first four games.)
None of those usage metrics score you fantasy points, of course. But they're reason for at least some optimism going forward.
Kincaid will not be a league-winner this season, but he still looks like a mid-range TE1 that you can comfortably start every week.
Next up for the Bills is a Jets defense that tends to funnel targets to TEs and RBs because their CBs are so strong.
