Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is averaging the fewest fantasy points per game among his four seasons as starter. And the problem isn't his rushing. Hurts is actually up 1.3 carries per game over last year -- albeit at a career-low 3.5 yards per carry. He's also on pace for his fourth straight season of 10+ rushing scores. But Philly's pass less than last year.
2024 Fantasy Football Impact
Through seven weeks, the Eagles' 46.5% neutral pass rate ranks sixth-lowest in the league, according to RBSDM.com. Even if you take out Sunday's 33% pass rate, the season rate climbs to just 48.2%.
Last year's Eagles finished at 57.9%, the sixth-highest neutral pass rate in the league.
This year marks the first under OC Kellen Moore. But Philly also lost WR A.J. Brown for weeks 2-4, plus DeVonta Smith for Week 4.
So we'll have to see whether more time with his top two WRs back and more time in Moore's system lead to more passing -- or if the plan was just to lean this heavily on Saquon Barkley.
If Philly's pass rate stays down, we'll have to modify expectations for Hurts and his pass-catchers.
