Brock Purdy Will Likely Miss Week 18

49ers QB Brock Purdy suffered a right elbow contusion with nerve inflammation in the Monday night loss to the Lions, HC Kyle Shanahan said. Purdy will likely miss this weekend's finale vs. the Cardinals but isn't expected to have any long-term issues.

Dynasty Impact

Purdy wraps up his second full season as San Francisco's starter with 258 passing yards and 1.3 TDs per game on a 66% completion rate and 8.5 yards per attempt. All of those marks were down from 2023 -- but Purdy dealt with numerous injuries to his skill-position players and offensive line. He ranks 14th among 43 qualifiers in Pro Football Focus' passing grades and 11th in NFL Next Gen Stats' completion rate over expected.

Purdy has one year left on his rookie deal but is widely expected to sign an extension with the 49ers this offseason. That'd be good news for his dynasty value, tying him to HC Kyle Shanahan's always-efficient passing game.

Purdy will never be a fantasy league-winner, but he looks like a solid low-end QB1 for dynasty teams for at least another handful of years.

2024 Fantasy Football Impact

QB Josh Dobbs replaced Purdy vs. Detroit and looks like the favorite to start Sunday's finale vs. the Cardinals. Dobbs can run and will have plenty of weapons at his disposal with George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, Deebo Samuel, and Ricky Pearsall.

He's at least an interesting Week 18 DFS play.
