Bengals WR Jermaine Burton entered the NFL with character concerns and had more trouble as a rookie last year. But ESPN's Ben Baby named Burton the team's biggest surprise this offseason. "Burton has made all the right moves," Baby writes. "He was attentive and engaged throughout the spring workouts. He earned praise from every person who was asked about him, including offensive coordinator Dan Pitcher."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Burton obviously isn't claiming a top-two spot on the Bengals' WR depth chart. But current No. 3 WR Andrei Iosivas isn't untouchable. In fact, he ranked dead last among 84 qualifying WRs in Pro Football Focus' 2024 receiving grades.
That No. 3 spot still probably wouldn't be enough to make Burton a redraft asset. (Iosivas totaled only 59 targets last year.) But it would leave him a Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins injury away from relevance.
Dynasty Impact
Burton is worth keeping stashed in most dynasty leagues. He was a third-round pick a year ago, just turned 24, and is tied to QB Joe Burrow and a pass-heavy offense.
Chase and Higgins are signed through 2029 and 2028, respectively, so Burton will remain a WR handcuff at best for the next few years. But the talent remains intriguing.
