Top Plays for FanDuel Cash Games and Tournaments

Here are the guys I’m considering for FanDuel Week 11:

Week 11

Cash Game Quarterback

Justin Herbert, Chargers ($7,300) vs. Bengals

Herbert’s finished as a top-12 fantasy QB for three straight weeks. Part of that is Herbert simply playing better; part because the Chargers have increased their early-season pass rate over expected.

Sunday night looks like a nice spot for scoring against the Bengals. That’s reflected in the Chargers’ implied point total of 24.5.

Tournament Quarterback 

Russell Wilson, Steelers ($7,800) vs. Ravens

First off, Wilson is performing as the type of boom-or-bust QB you want in tournaments.

Since taking over for Justin Fields, his average depth of target (aDOT) is 10.8 yards. That ranks second over that stretch.

Wilson’s weaponry certainly has the potential to deliver on his signature moon balls. We’ve seen it from George Pickens, and even Mike Williams, who made his Steelers debut in Week 10.

Wilson’s upside hits another gear Sunday against a struggling Ravens secondary. Baltimore’s allowed a league-high 27.3 fantasy points per game to enemy QBs. Plus, their sturdy run defense could force extra pass attempts.

Cash Game Running Backs

Alvin Kamara, Saints ($8,200) vs. Browns

Kamara came close to a massive day last week against Atlanta, only to drop a would-be TD.

Still, he saw 20 opportunities (targets + carries) for the third straight game. That volume should stay in place given the Saints’ injury-ravaged offense. 

The matchup looks favorable, too. Cleveland sits 31st in PFF’s tackling grades. They also slot a mid-pack 15th in rush defense DVOA.

Another explosive play or two remains within reach.

Chase Brown, Bengals ($6,800) at Chargers

Brown easily projects as the top value play at RB. He’s provided workhorse usage for two straight weeks, totaling 54 touches over that stretch.

He should be the first player locked into cash lineups.

Tournament Running Backs

Josh Jacobs, Packers ($7,400) 

Jacobs hits the week 15th in FanDuel RB salary; 10th in our RB ceiling projections.

Coming off a bye, he should be set for a fantasy-friendly workload against a Bears team that’s missing run-stuffing DT Andrew Billings. The Packers are installed as 5.5-point road favorites.

Nick Chubb, Browns ($6,200)

Chubb’s health should be in a good spot following a Week 10 bye.

Prior to that one, he improved his missed tackles forced and PFF Elusive Rating in two straight weeks. His carry shares have gone 55%, 70%, and 75% since coming off IR.

While Chubb appears to be trending up, it’s Jameis Winston’s volatility that supplies risk. He could finish as a fantasy QB1 … or get benched at halftime.

Still, at a lower-tier price, Chubb is worth a look against a beatable Saints run D. They’ve allowed the fourth most FD points to RBs this season.

Cash Game Wide Receivers

Khalil Shakir, Bills ($6,500) vs. Chiefs

The Bills are missing Keon Coleman’s 15% target share and Dalton Kincaid’s 20% share. Shakir is already averaging 6 targets per matchup.

Perhaps Buffalo opts for a run-heavy approach in this one. But Shakir projects as the focal point when they do pass, supplying the upside for him to hit double digit looks. 

He projects as one of the top value WRs on this slate.

Ladd McConkey, Chargers ($6,200) vs. Bengals

The Bengals sit bottom-10 in catches and yards allowed to WRs.

McConkey, meanwhile, has reached a 20% target share in all but two games this season. In a potential shootout, McConkey looks like one of the most underpriced WRs of Week 11.

Tournament Wide Receivers

George Pickens, Steelers ($7,500) vs. Ravens

If you’re playing Russell Wilson, it’s natural to stack him with Pickens. The third-year WR has hit 70 yards in three straight, scoring twice over that stretch. He’s thrid league-wide in red zone target share (37.5%).

It’s the exact profile you want for FanDuel’s .5 PPR setup. And you can’t knock the matchup against Baltimore’s worst-ranked pass D.

Tee Higgins, Bengals ($7,100) at Chargers

Higgins was removed form the injury report on Friday, so he’ll suit up on Sunday night. Perhaps the late start – and Higgins’ durability woes – will keep the ownership down.

But there’s no doubt he carries a high ceiling. From Week 4 to Week 5, Higgins commanded target shares between 32% and 34%. He out-targeted Ja’Marr Chase by 9 over that stretch.

No, the Chargers matchup isn’t great. But there’s at least a chance they’ll be without ace pass rusher Khalil Mack, who missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday with a groin.

Cash Game Tight End

Dawson Knox, Bills ($5,100) vs. Chiefs

The Bills ruled out Dalton Kincaid on Friday. Earlier in the week, we learned that Keon Coleman would remain sidelined.

On top of those developments, Amari Cooper is expected to play with a cast on his wrist. Given Buffalo’s injury situation, Knox could work his way into 5-7 targets at a bargain price.

Tournament Tight End

Travis Kelce, Chiefs ($7,400) at Bills

Kelce’s seen a position-leading 40 targets over the past three weeks. He’s delivered a 32-254-2 line over that stretch.

While the Bills supply a tough matchup, it’s hard to overlook Kelce as a high-upside option at a fair price. He leads the slate in FanDuel $ per point among TEs.

Defense

New York Jets ($4,200) vs. Colts

The Jets draw a Colts offense that’s shifting back to Anthony Richardson … with three rookie starters along the O-line…

Sure, the Jets were dominated by the Cardinals in Week 10. But before that came an 8-sack outing vs. Houston. Ultimately, Richardson’s turnover-prone play breathes life into the Jets.
