No one can complain about Christian McCaffrey's fantasy output after he racked up 3 TDs (two rushing, one receiving) in Sunday's win over the Cardinals. But it's worth noting that he's ceding rushing work to No. 2 RB Brian Robinson Jr. That included garnering eight carries for 24 yards in Sunday's win over the Cardinals.
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Robinson trailed McCaffrey by just five carries, their second-tightest split of the season. And that trailed only their 12-8 carry split in Week 10.
Sunday's shrunken gap might seem to make sense given the one-sided score. But Robinson got his first two carries before the end of the first quarter, and the first half ended with just a 6-3 McCaffrey carry lead.
McCaffrey has continued to dominate backfield receiving. His six targets against the Cardinals tied George Kittle and Jauan Jennings for the team lead. McCaffrey caught five of them for 40 yards. And he racked up 8 catches on 10 targets the week before.
There's nothing to really worry about -- or change -- with McCaffrey here. But the role growth is at least worth noting for Robinson, who scored in two straight games before Sunday.
McCaffrey's biggest fantasy issue is the Week 14 bye that still lies ahead. His remaining schedule looks fine otherwise. A Week 13 visit to Cleveland stands as easily the worst spot. But a post-bye run of Tennessee, Indy, and Chicago looks good.
