The Seattle Seahawks selected Notre Dame RB Jadarian Price in Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft. Price was overshadowed by Jeremiyah Love but clearly showed enough on that limited work. After rebounding from a ruptured Achilles in 2022, he displayed consistent burst, power, and efficiency. That produced 6.0 career yards per carry and 10.8 per catch (albeit on only 15 career receptions). The Athletic’s Dane Brugler went so far as to say Price may have generated Heisman buzz had he transferred out of Notre Dame for 2025. Instead, Price hits the NFL with limited wear on his body. Among the 20 RBs invited to the NFL Combine, Price ranked 17th in 2025 rushing market share (27.5%) and third in yards after contact per attempt (3.92). He ranked second in 2025 missed tackles forced per attempt (0.28) and seventh in receiving yards per route run (1.23). He is currently 22 years old.
What They're Saying
Draft Sharks Rookie Guide: “Price never handled a feature workload while playing with Jeremiyah Love. But he squeezed maximum value out of limited touches over the past two seasons.”
2026 Fantasy Football Impact
Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker Jr. left the Seahawks in free agency and signed with the Chiefs. RB Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn left ACL on Jan. 26. We currently project him to miss the first seven games of the season.
That puts Price as the likely starter for the Seahawks at least until Charbonnet comes back.
Price’s dynamic explosion and long speed make him an ideal replacement for Walker and fit within the Seahawks offense.
The question, of course, will be how Price and Charbonnet fit together once the latter is ready -- assuming he makes it all the way back.
Last year's backfield split frustrated Walker drafters all season, so this year's version carries the same potential. If you can get Price at a reasonable draft cost, however, the Charbonnet uncertainty raises the rookie's ceiling.
Dynasty Impact
Price fits the Seahawks system, but they seem intent on a two-RB approach for the long term.
Charbonnet is set to hit free agency after this season. Whether Seattle tries to keep him off the open market could be our first clue on the longer-term backfield plans.
Either way, it's tough to count on Price hitting 2027 as a workhorse.
The first round draft capital combined with landing spot could push Price up in rookie drafts. He'll likely sit 1.05 in 1-QB and 1.06 in superflex.
Don’t reach for him over the top three WRs.
