Cedrick Wilson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Saints WRs Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) did not practice on Tuesday. Olave has virtually no chance to clear protocol in time for Thursday night's game vs. the Broncos. We're still waiting for more information on Shaheed's knee injury, but he seems unlikely to play against Denver. Without their top two WRs, the Saints would be left with Bub Means, Mason Tipton, and Cedrick Wilson.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) is inactive for tonight’s game vs. the Bills. He’s expected back for next week’s Wild Card game. WR Cedrick Wilson stepped into a full-time role with Waddle out last week, catching two of four targets for 27 yards and a score.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) is out for Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. He was always unlikely to play in this one and could also miss next weekend's regular-season finale vs. the Bills with his high-ankle sprain. WR Cedrick Wilson is the likely Waddle replacement but is no more than a cheap flier for DFS tournaments. WR Tyreek Hill and RBs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane are candidates for more targets with Waddle out.

The Dolphins released WR Chosen Anderson. He appeared to be running as Miami's No. 4 WR this summer, but the Fins are evidently going with Cedrick Wilson in that spot instead. Braxton Berrios is expected to be the No. 3, slot receiver in 3-WR sets.

The Dolphins signed WR Chosen "the-artist-formerly-known-as-Robbie" Anderson. A valuable deep threat early in his career, Anderson has been one of the least efficient WRs in the NFL over the past 2 seasons. He ranked 97th among 101 qualifiers in yards per route run with the Panthers in 2021, and then finished 94th out of 96 last year in Carolina and then Arizona. In Miami, Anderson will duke it out with WRs Braxton Berrios and Cedrick Wilson for action behind target hogs Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. You can continue to ignore Anderson in early best-ball drafts.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) practiced fully on Friday and doesn't carry an injury tag for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Bills. Teammate WR Cedrick Wilson (hip, groin) is listed as questionable. With rookie QB Skylar Thompson set to be the starter this weekend, the fantasy appeal of all Dolphins' pass-catchers takes a tangible hit. Waddle has a combined 8 catches and 96 receiving yards in the last 2 games with Thompson primarily serving as the QB. Be cautious with Waddle and any other receiver on the Dolphins for fantasy playoff contests. The upside simply isn't there for any of them.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) once again practiced in a limited fashion on Thursday. Teammate Cedrick Wilson (hip, groin) logged limited participation as well. It's good to see this duo is managing some work in practice so far. We'll have their final injury designations for Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Bills tomorrow.

Dolphins WR Jaylen Waddle (ankle) practiced in a limited fashion on Wednesday. Teammate WR Cedric Wilson (hip, groin) was also listed as limited on the injury report. There are plenty of injuries on this Dolphins roster ahead of Sunday's Wild Card game vs. the Bills to keep an eye on. We'll be sure to give an update on these pass-catchers tomorrow.

Dolphins WR Trent Sherfield started ahead of WR Cedrick Wilson in Saturday night's preseason finale against the Eagles. Sherfield opened the game opposite Tyreek Hill, with Jaylen Waddle inactive. Wilson didn't enter the game until after Hill left. That points to Sherfield -- who played under HC Mike McDaniel in San Francisco -- leading the race to be #3 WR, despite Wilson getting significant money in free agency. The role gains some importance as Waddle deals with an unspecified injury. We'll see about Waddle's status as Week 1 approaches. Neither Sherfield nor Wilson should factor into most fantasy football drafts. But Sherfield could be a sneaky late addition to best-ball tournament lineups.

Dolphins WR coach Wes Welker complimented WR Cedrick Wilson in OTAs. Welker listed the following as positives: “His smoothness, his understanding of defenses and how to run routes, how to get open, understanding the techniques of defenders and how to attack them,” the former WR said. “Just a very savvy player who has kind of played with a chip on his shoulder. We’re looking forward for him to play with that same chip here.” Wilson signed a 3-year deal worth ~$12.8 million guaranteed in March. Miami proceeded to crush his fantasy value with the trade for Tyreek Hill. Still, the former Cowboy could jump into the WR3 mix with an injury to either Hill or Jaylen Waddle.

The Dolphins have agreed to a 3-year, $22.8 million deal with WR Cedrick Wilson, according to multiple reports. Wilson, who turned 26 in November, has seen his role increase each year. He garnered 61 targets in 2021, logging 4 starts thanks to Michael Gallup's injury. The new contract says he'll join Jaylen Waddle and DeVante Parker among Miami's top 3 at the position. With TE Mike Gesicki also back (franchise tag), Dolphins targets could be spread a little thin.

In addition to the rumored nearing deal with WR Michael Gallup, the Cowboys also believe they can retain WR Cedrick Wilson in the wake of moving WR Amari Cooper and his contract. Like Gallup, Wilson is set to hit free agency this month. Wilson set career highs with 61 targets, 45 catches, 602 yards and 6 TDs in 2021, benefitting from Gallup losing half the season to injuries. If he does re-sign with Dallas, Wilson should be the front-runner for the #3 role -- likely settling in as the primary slot guy. Wilson spent 90% of his pass snaps in the slot last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Sunday's loss to the Cardinals that WR Michael Gallup is believed to have a torn left ACL. He'll undergo an MRI on Monday to confirm that diagnosis. If it's a torn ACL, Gallup will miss Week 18 and the playoffs and hit free agency in March rehabbing a serious injury. We'll track his rehab and see where he ends up signing. Cedrick Wilson will replace Gallup as Dallas' #3 WR.

The Cowboys on Monday placed WR Cedrick Wilson on the COVID list after he tested positive. His absence doesn't mean much for fantasy football, now that Dallas' top 3 wideouts are back healthy. We'll keep our fingers crossed that his exposure doesn't bring down any higher-profile member of the Cowboys offense heading into Sunday's meeting with the Giants.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper (COVID) is listed as questionable for Thursday night's game vs. the Saints. He was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday, his 1st official practice since coming off the COVID list. ESPN's Ed Werder reported this morning that Cooper is expected to play tomorrow night, but we'll find out for sure around 7 pm ET. WR Cedrick Wilson (ankle) is out for Week 13. That leaves Noah Brown and Malik Turner as Dallas' depth WRs behind CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and (potentially) Amari Cooper.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb (concussion) is out for today's game vs. the Raiders, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports. Lamb has made some progress through the protocol but was always a long shot to get cleared for this Thursday game. With WR Amari Cooper (COVID) also out, Dallas is down to WRs Michael Gallup, Cedrick Wilson, Noah Brown and Malik Turner. TE Dalton Schultz should also play a big role in the passing game today.

Cowboys WR Amari Cooper has landed on the COVID list. He's out for Sunday's game vs. the Chiefs and the Thanksgiving game vs. the Raiders. Cooper's absence should mean target boosts for CeeDee Lamb, Michael Gallup and Dalton Schultz. Cedrick Wilson is the favorite for #3 WR duties, but Noah Brown and Malik Turner might also mix in.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup (calf) was not activated from IR on Saturday and won't play against the Broncos on Sunday. He's been back at practice for a couple of weeks now, so we're guessing he'll return for Week 10. Cedrick Wilson gets at least 1 more game as Dallas' #3 WR.

Chargers CB Chris Harris Jr. is out for Sunday's game against the Cowboys with a shoulder injury. That leaves L.A. without its top cover man and primary slot corner. Dallas WR Cedrick Wilson likely stands to benefit the most. With Michael Gallup out, Wilson will serve as the #3 wideout and played 85% of his pass snaps in the slot in Week 1.

Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is expected to be sidelined 3-5 weeks with a calf strain, The Dallas Morning News' Michael Gehlken reports. Gallup figures to land on short-term IR. It's worth noting that Dallas has a Week 7 bye, so it's possible we don't see Gallup again until Week 8. He's not a must-hold in shallower fantasy leagues. WR Cedrick Wilson ran a route on 85% of Dallas' pass plays after Gallup exited Thursday night's opener and is worth a look on waiver wires. Gallup's absence, of course, will also free up targets for WRs Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.
