Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks managed to play through the shoulder issue that rendered him questionable for Sunday's win over the Texans. He snagged a 30-yard TD among 3 receptions for 48 yards. Wicks tied for second on the team in receiving yards and targets (6) but ranked just fourth among WRs in snaps and routes.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Texans. We wouldn’t use him in fantasy lineups coming off the shoulder injury, but Wicks’ presence makes WR Christian Watson a riskier start. Wicks was playing ahead of Watson early in last week’s game, before hurting his shoulder.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. Insider Jordan Schultz reported on Monday that Wicks was considered “week to week” with this shoulder injury, but he seemingly has a real chance to play on Sunday. Wicks shouldn’t be in Week 7 fantasy lineups, but his presence would add downside to WR Christian Watson’s profile. We’ll get Green Bay’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks (shoulder) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. Insider Jordan Schultz reported earlier this week that Wicks was considered "week to week" with his shoulder injury, but it looks like he at least has a chance to suit up vs. the Texans this weekend. We'll track his progress over the next few days. Wicks shouldn't be part of your Week 7 fantasy plans, but his presence would make WR Christian Watson a shakier play.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks is considered “week to week” with the shoulder injury that knocked him out of the Week 6 win over the Cardinals, according to insider Jordan Schultz. "After initial concern inside the Packers’ building of a more substantial injury, there is relief that Wicks avoided anything more serious," Schultz adds.
Packers WR Dontayvion Wicks is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Cardinals with a shoulder injury. He was playing ahead of WR Christian Watson before exiting, catching one of three targets for nine yards. We'll update Wicks' status when we know more.
Update: Wicks has been ruled out.
Packers WR Christian Watson (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Cardinals. He was limited in practice all week and still probably isn’t at 100%. We’d try not to use Watson in Week 6 fantasy lineups, but his return makes WR Dontayvion Wicks an extremely shaky fantasy play. Watson was playing ahead of Wicks before the ankle injury.
Packers WR Christian Watson (ankle) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Cardinals. He seemingly has a legitimate chance to return after missing just one game, although we’d try not to use Watson in Week 6 fantasy lineups coming off the ankle injury. His return would, however, make WR Dontayvion Wicks a much shakier fantasy play.
Packers WR Christian Watson (ankle) returned to a limited practice on Wednesday. He seemingly has a shot to play vs. the Cardinals this weekend. Watson would be tough to trust in fantasy lineups in his first game back from what was reportedly a high-ankle sprain. But his return would take WR Dontayvion Wicks out of fantasy-lineup consideration.
Packers WRs Christian Watson (ankle) and Romeo Doubs (suspension) are inactive for today’s game vs. the Rams. That leaves Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks as Green Bay’s clear top-two WRs. It’s unclear exactly how No. 3 WR duties will be divvied between Bo Melton and Malik Heath. They’re just fliers in DFS tournaments.
The Packers suspended WR Romeo Doubs one game for conduct detrimental to the team. He'll miss Sunday's contest vs. the Rams.
Packers WRs Christian Watson (ankle) and Romeo Doubs (personal) are listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Rams. So Green Bay is suddenly down two of its top three WRs in terms of playing time so far this season. It’s a huge opportunity for WR Dontayvion Wicks, while WR Jayden Reed and TE Tucker Kraft should also pick up extra volume. We’re expecting WRs Bo Melton and Malik Heath to split Doubs’ snaps.
Packers WR Romeo Doubs did not practice on Thursday due to a personal matter, HC Matt LaFleur said. LaFleur added that they're "taking it day by day" as to whether Doubs will play vs. the Rams this weekend. Green Bay, of course, is already likely to be without WR Christian Watson for that one. Doubs' absence would leave some combination of Bo Melton and Malik Heath as the No. 3 WR behind Jayden Reed and Dontayvion Wicks.
Insider Jordan Schultz hears that Packers WR Christian Watson is "unlikely" to land on IR. Schultz adds that Watson is dealing with a "mild" high-ankle sprain. He's a big long shot to play vs. the Rams this weekend, and we'd still bet on him missing multiple games. But the Packers evidently expect him back before Week 9.
Packers WR Christian Watson is expected to miss "multiple weeks" with his high-ankle sprain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. He avoided a fracture in the ankle but might still wind up on IR, Rapoport adds. This is a pretty standard timetable for high-ankle sprains. Plan on Watson missing at least Green Bay's next four games.
The Packers believe WR Christian Watson suffered a high-ankle sprain in the Week 4 loss to the Vikings, according to insider Jordan Schultz. Watson is scheduled for a Monday MRI to confirm that diagnosis. A high-ankle sprain would very likely cost Watson multiple games.
Packers QB Jordan Love went off for 389 yards, 4 TDs, and 3 INTs in Sunday's loss to the Vikings. His yardage, TDs, and attempts (54) all set career highs.
Packers WR Christian Watson is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. He was carted back to the locker room. We'll update Watson's status when we know more. His absence will mean more snaps for WR Dontayvion Wicks.
Update: Watson has been ruled out.
