Gus Edwards Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins will not play against the Bengals today "and instead will begin focusing on next weekend’s wild-card game." Dobbins was not listed on this week's injury report but had the August 2021 ACL tear and surgery on that same knee this October. Assuming he didn't suffer a setback over the past couple of days, Dobbins should be busy in next weekend's Wild Card game. His absence today figures to leave Gus Edwards as Baltimore's lead ball carrier, with Justice Hill and Kenyan Drake behind him.

Responding to a question about RB Gus Edwards playing 9 snaps on Sunday night, Ravens HC John Harbaugh expressed regret. “I wasn't happy about that, Harbaugh said. “Gus should have played more.” J.K. Dobbins out-carried Edwards 17-3, a week after Dobbins held a narrow edge (12-11). Edwards won’t be a recommended Week 18 fantasy play against Cincinnati.

Ravens RBs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards split the rushing work evenly in Sunday's win over the Falcons. Dobbins edged his teammate by 1 carry (12-11), but Edwards led the way in yardage this time. He racked up 99, averaging 9.0 per rush with a long run of 37. Dobbins tallied 59 yards (4.9 per carry). Baltimore gets a tougher rushing draw against the Steelers in Week 17, which will make it tough to love either member of this split situation.

Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins rushed 13 times for 125 yards in Saturday's loss to the Browns. It marked his 2nd straight game over 100 rushing yards since returning from IR. Dobbins also increased his share of RB carries, claiming 61.9% after barely edging Gus Edwards in his 1st game back. Dobbins also caught his only target for 3 yards. He gets a high-upside matchup with the Falcons in Week 16. Edwards carried 7 times for 55 yards against the Browns. Justice Hill chimed in a carry for 3 yards and 1 catch (on 1 target) for 15 yards.

Ravens RB Kenyan Drake is a healthy scratch for today's game vs. the Browns. Baltimore will roll with RBs J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards and Justice Hill.

Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins racked up 120 yards and a TD on 15 carries in Sunday's win over the Steelers. It was his 1st game back since the team shut Dobbins down for arthroscopic surgery in the knee that required an ACL repair last summer. Dobbins set season highs in attempts and yards in his return, a game that saw Baltimore run 38 times vs. 23 dropbacks. RB Gus Edwards ranked 2nd with 13 rushing attempts for 66 yards. RB Kenyan Drake carried just once (for 1 yard) and added another yard on 2 catches (2 targets). The Ravens figure to go run-heavy again in Week 15, with QB Lamar Jackson expected to be out once more. QB Tyler Huntley appears likely to sit as well after suffering a concussion against Pittsburgh. Dobbins should be picked up where available in most leagues this week.

Fill-in QB Tyler Huntley led the Ravens with 41 rushing yards on 10 carries in Sunday's win over the Broncos. RB Kenyan Drake followed with just 29 yards on 7 attempts (4.1 per carry). Then came Gus Edwards (6-12, 2.0) and Justice Hill (1-2). Next comes a visit to Pittsburgh. We'll see whether RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) is ready to return -- as well as how much longer QB Lamar Jackson will remain out.

Ravens RB J.K. Dobbins (knee) won't play vs. the Broncos this weekend, HC John Harbaugh said Friday. Dobbins returned to practice this week after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery in late October and has a chance to make it back for Week 14. He's a fine stash in fantasy but is unlikely to be anything close to a league-winner. Gus Edwards will operate as Baltimore's lead back vs. Denver on Sunday.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards took over the backfield Sunday against the Jaguars, in his return from a hamstring injury. He handled a team-high 16 carries, 84.2% of the team's RB rushing attempts. RB Kenyan Drake played half as many snaps in all and ran just 2 more routes than Edwards. He split time with Justice Hill. They combined for 3 rushes and 1 target. Edwards took his 16 run for just 52 yards but saved his fantasy line with a 1-yard TD early in the 4th quarter. Week 13 brings a Denver defense that has been weaker against the run than the pass for a while.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is active for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. He’s the best bet to lead Baltimore RBs in carries today, but it’s tough to know exactly what the backfield split will look like between Edwards, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is expected to play vs. the Jaguars today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Edwards got in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so he should be at least close to 100%. Edwards led Baltimore's backfield with 16 carries in his lone full game this season, but it's unclear exactly what the backfield split between Edwards, Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill will look like today.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Jaguars. He got in full practices on Thursday and Friday, and HC John Harbaugh said Friday that he’s "optimistic" Edwards will play. Assuming he does, he’ll be a risk/reward RB3 in fantasy lineups. We’d expect Edwards to lead RBs Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill in carries.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. That should put him in line to play vs. the Jaguars this weekend, but we'll get another update on Edwards tomorrow.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring, knee) put in a limited practice on Wednesday. He was limited last week before missing the Panthers game, so Edwards' status for this Sunday's game vs. the Jaguars remains uncertain. We'll get another update tomorrow.

11:31am EST 11/20/22

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Panthers. That again leaves backfield duties to Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. Drake racked up 24 carries and 2 targets in Baltimore’s win over the Saints, prior to the Week 10 bye.
