Najee Harris Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (hamstring) is out for Monday night's game vs. the Colts. The rookie lasted just 3 snaps last week -- and RB Najee Harris ended up racking up 20 carries and 6 targets on a 92% snap rate. He could be in for similar usage on Monday.

Steelers RB Jaylen Warren (hamstring) did not practice on Thursday. His absence on Monday night vs. the Colts would leave RB Najee Harris in a workhorse role.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that RB Jaylen Warren's hamstring injury is "not significant" but labeled him "questionable" for Monday night's game vs. the Colts. We'll track the rookie's status throughout the week. His absence would be a significant boost for RB Najee Harris.

Steelers RB Najee Harris took 20 carries for 90 yards and 2 TDs in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. Its' the 2nd straight game in which he has reached 20 carries, 90 yards and 4.5 yards per rush -- coming out of the Week 9 bye -- after Harris failed to reach any of those marks through the 1st 8 games. Harris also seemed to benefit from Jaylen Warren's early departure for a hamstring injury. Harris tied for 2nd on the team with 6 targets and 4 catches after losing receiving work to the rookie in Week 10. Harris gets a tough rushing matchup with the Colts in Week 12, but a much better spot at Atlanta in Week 13. His final 4 fantasy weeks find potentially tough matchups with the Ravens sandwiching a pair of softer rushing matchups: at the Panthers, home for the Raiders.

Steelers RB Jaylen Warren was knocked out of Sunday's game vs. the Bengals with a hamstring injury. That leaves Najee Harris to dominate backfield work. We'll update Warren's status when we learn more.

Steelers RB Najee Harris (knee) put in a full practice on Wednesday. HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that Harris was dealing with "knee discomfort," but it's obviously not a major issue. Harris should be ready for his usual workload vs. the Bengals on Sunday.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin said Tuesday that RB Najee Harris is dealing with "knee discomfort" but that it won't impact his status for this weekend's game vs. the Bengals. We'll keep an eye on Harris throughout the week. Backup RB Jaylen Warren should be rostered in most fantasy leagues at this point.

Steelers RB Najee Harris ran for 99 yards on 20 carries in Sunday's win over the Saints. He went without a catch on just 1 target. RB Jaylen Warren played his 2nd-largest snap share of the season (43%), matching Harris in routes run. Warren caught all 3 of his targets for 40 yards, ranking 3rd on the team in that category. Warren remained clearly behind Harris in the run game, taking 9 carries for 37 yards. Week 11 holds a challenging matchup with the Bengals.

Steelers HC Mike Tomlin was asked on Tuesday about his backfield coming out of the bye week and said this: "...when we were talking about a division of labor and who's done what and who's done well, I know that was a topic of discussion and very evident in our tape review." Tomlin went on to praise RB Jaylen Warren. "We've gotten some awesome contributions from Jaylen and it's reasonable to expect that to continue," Tomlin said. "He's a quality back that's made some plays." We'd be very surprised if an undrafted rookie supplanted Najee Harris, a former 1st-round pick, as Pittsburgh's lead back, but it sounds like Warren could be in for a bigger role going forward. He's worth stashing as we wait to see what the Steelers' backfield looks like vs. the Saints this weekend.

Steelers RB Najee Harris managed just 32 rushing yards on 8 carries in Sunday's lopsided loss at Philadelphia. He watched RB Jaylen Warren (6-50) and QB Kenny Pickett (7-37) outproduce him on the ground. Harris did lead the team with 6 receptions but turned those into only 26 yards (4.3 per catch). After a Week 9 bye, Pittsburgh gets home dates with the Saints and Bengals.

Steelers RB Najee Harris didn't do a whole lot for your fantasy football lineup in Sunday night's loss to the Dolphins, but his workload was encouraging. Harris carried 17 times for 65 yards and caught 3 of 4 targets for 15 more. He played nearly 4 times as many snaps as rookie backup Jaylen Warren and ran a route on 61.2% of QB Kenny Pickett's dropbacks. That's Harris' highest mark of the season. Week 8 brings a difficult matchup (for the whole team) against the Eagles, followed by a Week 9 bye.

Steelers RB Najee Harris caught 1 of 2 Steelers TD passes in Sunday's win over the Buccaneers. That came on 1 of his 2 catches for 7 total yards. Harris added a mere 42 rushing yards on 14 carries (3.0 per attempt). He did, at least, work well ahead of rookie Jaylen Warren, who totaled just 2 touches for 2 yards (both on the ground). Harris gets a tough Miami run defense in Week 7 and then a tough-all-over Philly matchup in Week 8.

Steelers RB Najee Harris said Friday that he just took a steel plate out of his shoe earlier this week. He'd been playing with that plate since suffering what was reported as a sprained Lisfranc in his left foot early in training camp. Harris said he now feels like he's back to 100%. We'll see if that means more volume and better efficiency going forward. But until we see it, Harris should be considered a low-upside RB2.

Steelers RB Najee Harris managed just 20 yards on his 11 carries (1.8 per rush) in Sunday's lopsided loss to the Bills. He added 3 receptions for 16 yards (5.3 per catch) among 4 targets. Harris got pulled for the 4th quarter in a game Pittsburgh lost 38-3. Week 6 presents another tough overall matchup with Tampa Bay, though none looks as tough as Buffalo right now.

The Steelers are moving forward with Kenny Pickett as their starting QB, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. It's the logical move after the rookie led Pittsburgh to a pair of TDs in the 2nd half of Sunday's loss to the Jets. Pickett tossed 3 INTs in that one -- but 1 went of TE Pat Freiermuth's hands and the other was an end-of-game Hail Mary. Pickett sits 12th among 34 QBs in Pro Football Focus' Week 4 passing grades (with the Monday night game still to go). He's only an option in 2-QB fantasy leagues for now, but we think he'll be an upgrade over QB Mitchell Trubisky for this Pittsburgh offense. Of course, it'll be tough sledding this weekend in Buffalo

Steelers RB Najee Harris (foot) isn't listed on the final Week 2 injury report. He practiced all week, including full workouts on Thursday and Friday. So it looks like Harris is ready for his usual workload in Sunday's game vs. the Patriots.

Steelers RB Najee Harris (foot) graduated to a full practice on Thursday. It's confirmation that he'll be out there for this weekend's game vs. the Patriots.

Steelers RB Najee Harris (foot) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. It's confirmation that he's on track to play vs. the Patriots this weekend. We'll continue to monitor Harris' status over the next few days.

Steelers RB Najee Harris (foot) said in a Tuesday radio appearance that he'll play vs. the Patriots this weekend. Players, of course, are always optimistic about their status. But we've heard independent reports that Harris' injury isn't serious and that he's likely to play Week 2. He can stay penciled into fantasy lineups for now.

Insider Jordan Schultz confirms that Steelers RB Najee Harris' injury is not serious. Schultz calls it a foot injury, rather than an ankle. But he reports that the Steelers believe there's a "good chance" Harris will be available for Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. We'll track his practice participation this week.
