Chargers HC Jim Harbaugh confirmed on Monday that RB Najee Harris tore his left Achilles in the Week 3 win over the Broncos. Harris is done for the season and faces a lengthy rehab. It's bad timing for the 27-year-old who's set to hit free agency this offseason.

The Chargers lost RB Najee Harris in the middle of the second quarter Sunday to a torn left Achilles' tendon. That allowed rookie RB Omarion Hampton to grab total backfield control in a game that found him racking up 25 touches and 129 total yards. Hampton ran 19 times for 70 yards and a TD. He added 6 receptions for 59 yards on seven targets in the narrow victory over the Broncos.

Hassan Haskins will step in as Los Angeles' No. 2 RB, with RB Kimani Vidal likely to be elevated from the practice squad.

First-round RB Omarion Hampton was held to just 24 rushing yards on 8 carries and was benched after a fourth-quarter fumbled exchange in the Chargers' 20-9 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The fumble was later given to QB Justin Herbert.

Chargers RB Omarion Hampton rushed 15 times for 48 yards (3.2 YPC) in Friday night's win over the Chiefs. He added 13 more yards on two receptions. It was a tough test for the rookie against a Kansas City defense that limited RBs to 3.8 yards per carry last year. But we weren't very impressed by Hampton in this one. He showed nice burst and speed when he found a lane. But he didn't elude or avoid many tackles. In fact, NFL Next Gen Stats tracked him for -1.67 rush yards over expected per attempt. For comparison, D'Andre Swift finished dead last in that category last year at -0.69.

Chargers RB Najee Harris (eye) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. It's more confirmation that he's on track to play in Friday night's opener against the Chiefs in Brazil. Harris didn't practice a single time in training camp after his July 4 fireworks accident, so it's tough to imagine that he'll be ready for a significant role on Friday. The Athletic's Daniel Popper posted on X that Chargers' RB Najee Harris is "ramping it up" in preparation to play in LA's season opener on Friday in Brazil.
