Romeo Doubs Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (hamstring) returned to a limited practice on Thursday. That gives him a shot to suit up for this weekend's opener vs. the Bears. We'll see what Doubs does on Friday and how he's listed on the final injury report.

Packers WRs Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs missed Wednesday's practice with hamstring injuries. Doubs has been sidelined for close to two weeks now, but it's unclear when Watson got hurt. Their absences vs. the Bears this weekend would leave rookies Jayden Reed and Luke Musgrave as Green Bay's top two pass-catchers -- and likely mean heavy doses of RBs Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon.

Per reporter Rob Demovsky, Packers WR Romeo Doubs missed Saturday’s preseason game with a hamstring injury. No word yet on the severity, but we’ll look for an update this weekend. Doubs sits low in our WR rankings.

ESPN's Rob Demovsky named Packers WR Romeo Doubs the team's surprise offseason standout. "Doubs has seemingly become Jordan Love's go-to guy," Demovsky writes. "Whether it's in scripted team periods or move-the-ball drills like the two-minute simulation, Doubs has been targeted time and again." It's worth remembering that Doubs was awesome last preseason, with most of his production coming from Love. And while his rookie season wasn't as impressive as teammate Christian Watson's, Doubs got off to a solid start before a midseason high-ankle sprain got in the way. With rookie Jayden Reed joining Doubs and Watson, this young Packers WR corps will be worth monitoring closely in training camp and preseason.

Per a report from Fox Sports, Packers WR Romeo Doubs recently spoke glowingly about his new QB, Jordan Love. "When you go from Aaron Rodgers to Jordan, Aaron was a really great quarterback, but I believe Jordan can do the same exact thing," said Doubs, adding that he doesn't see "the big difference" between the two. That's certainly high praise to cast upon Love, especially when comparing him to a former MVP in now-Jets QB Aaron Rodgers. He'll have big shoes to fill in Green Bay. The question is, can he be a significant contributor in 2023? It's tough to say as of now. He's only appeared in parts of 10 games with one career start in Week 9 of 2021 when Love went 19 of 34 passing (55.8%) for 190 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT in a loss to Kansas City. But we know that the Packers' front office greatly believes in him. The team signed Love to a one-year/$13.5 million extension (worth up to $22.5 million) instead of picking up the fifth-year option on his rookie deal. Check out our QB rankings to see if we're as keen on Love as his teammate is.

Michigan State WR Jayden Reed went to the Packers in Round 2 of the 2023 NFL Draft. Reed broke out immediately at Western Michigan, outproducing then-junior D’Wayne Eskridge as a true freshman. Reed also quickly carved out a role after transferring to Michigan State, earning 22% of targets or more in each of his three seasons with the Spartans. Reed played inside and outside at MSU and was terrific as a college punt returner (15.3 yards per return, 3 TDs). Senior Bowl week found him working almost exclusively in the slot, which will be Reed’s most likely path to NFL receiving success. (Read more about his development and fantasy outlook in his Dynasty Fantasy Football Value report.) In Green Bay, Reed figures to compete with Romeo Doubs for the No. 2 role behind Christian Watson. The rookie won’t be a priority target in redraft, but if Jordan Love hits, Reed could quickly climb the Dynasty WR Rankings.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs performed well in Sunday's win vs. the Rams, hauling in all 5 of his targets for 55 yards. Teammate Christian Watson ended the contest with 4 catches on 6 targets for 46 yards. Watson almost had a TD in the game, but ultimately fell short much to the dismay of fantasy managers whose playoff hopes hinged on his 4-game scoring streak continuing. Veteran Allen Lazard also disappointed, only recording 1 catch on 2 targets for 7 yards. Still, those who survived and advanced should feel good about these Packers WRs in Week 16. The Dolphins' defense ranks as the 8th-best matchup for opposing WRs in adjusted fantasy points allowed this season.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (ankle) put in a full practice on Thursday. He should be back for Monday night's game vs. the Rams but isn't a realistic fantasy play. We're expecting Doubs to return as Green Bay's 3rd or 4th WR, behind Christian Watson, Allen Lazard and potentially Randall Cobb.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bears. The rookie returned to practice this week and should be back for Week 14. Christian Watson, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb will again operate as Green Bay’s top 3 WRs today.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (ankle) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bears. We’ll see if the rookie can make it back for that one after going down in Week 9, but he shouldn’t be in your fantasy plans. Christian Watson, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb should remain locked in as Green Bay’s top 3 WRs this week.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (ankle) got in a limited practice on Wednesday -- his 1st since going down in Week 9. We'll see if Doubs is ready to play vs. the Bears this weekend, but we'd expect him to return as no better than the #4 WR behind Allen Lazard, Christian Watson and slot man Randall Cobb.

Packers WR Romeo Doubs (ankle) is out for Sunday night’s game vs. the Eagles. Allen Lazard, Christian Watson and Randall Cobb will continue operating as Green Bay’s top 3 WRs.
