Sterling Shepard Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

WR Kadarius Toney barely got onto the field in Sunday's win over the Titans. He played just 12% of the offensive snaps and ran a route on just 10% of dropbacks, according to Pro Football Focus. That's terrible usage for a guy who seemed to have a shot at serving as the Giants' #1 wideout. Little else went right for the passing game to push Toney aside. RB Saquon Barkley led the team in targets and catches. Richie James served as the top-producing wideout, with 5 catches for 59 yards among 6 targets. Sterling Shepard led the team with 71 receiving yards, thanks mostly to a 65-yard TD. Kenny Golladay garnered just 2 targets, and rookie WR Wan'Dale Robinson left with a knee injury.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (Achilles) was limited in practice all week but isn’t listed on the final injury report. He’ll play in Sunday’s opener vs. the Titans, a little less than 9 months after tearing his Achilles. We’ll see exactly how big a role Shepard is ready for, but he shouldn’t be in Week 1 fantasy lineups. His availability does make WR Wan’Dale Robinson a riskier bet.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (Achilles) said Tuesday that he's "ready to go" for this weekend's opener vs. the Titans. ESPN's Jordan Raanan confirms that Shepard "fully plans on playing" on Sunday. It's a remarkably quick turnaround for Shepard, who tore his Achilles last December and was just activated from the PUP list 2 weeks ago. Shepard shouldn't be in Week 1 fantasy lineups, but he's worth stashing on benches and complicates the outlooks of WRs Kadarius Toney, Wan'Dale Robinson and Kenny Golladay.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard has been activated from the PUP list and will practice on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Shepard tore his left Achilles a little over 8 months ago. "Have heard only positives about Shepard's rehab," Raanan tweeted. "He's looked good running and cutting on the side in recent weeks." It's still uncertain when Shepard will be ready for game action -- and whether he can rediscover pre-injury form. We'll keep a close eye on him but aren't ready to consider him a fantasy-draft target.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (Achilles) has resumed jogging, he told insider Josina Anderson. He's working back from December's torn left Achilles and is still seemingly a ways off from getting full medical clearance. We're not expecting Shepard to be ready for the start of the season but will continue to monitor his progress.

WR Sterling Shepard has agreed to a restructured contract to remain with the Giants. It's a 1-year deal, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan. Shepard was previously signed through the 2023 campaign. He'll spend this offseason rehabbing the torn left Achilles he suffered in December. Raanan hears that Shepard's rehab is going well and that he has a shot to be ready for the start of the season. But he's an unexciting pick in early best-ball drafts.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard tore his Achilles in Sunday's loss to the Cowboys, according to Dan Salomone. That ends Shepard's season and might impact his availability for the start of the 2022 campaign. We'll track his rehab this offseason.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard suffered a non-contact, left leg injury in the 4th quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. He was carted off the field. We'll update his status when we know more, but this obviously looks like a serious injury.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Cowboys. At less than 100% and in a struggling offense, Shepard isn't a recommended Week 15 fantasy starter.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (calf) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Cowboys. It's a new injury for Shepard, who'd just returned from a quad. At less than 100% and in a struggling offense, Shepard isn't a recommended Week 15 fantasy starter.

Giants WRs Sterling Shepard (quad) and WR Kenny Golladay (rib) are active for today’s game vs. the Chargers. This will be Shepard’s first action since Week 8 and just his 6th game of the season. He’s averaged 8.6 targets per game, though, and is in the WR3 mix in PPR leagues.

Giants WRs Sterling Shepard (quad) and Kenny Gollady (rib) are expected to play vs. the Chargers today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Both guys will be trying to catch passes from QB Mike Glennon. Shepard at least has some volume-based WR3 appeal, especially with WR Kadarius Toney (oblique) still out. Golladay isn't a recommended fantasy play.

Giants WRs Sterling Shepard (quad) and WR Kenny Golladay (rib) are listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. Shepard got in 3 limited practices this week, while Golladay was limited on Thursday and Friday after sitting out on Wednesday. Both guys seem likely to play on Sunday. We'd stay away from Golladay, who's finished as a top 40 fantasy WR just once all season. Shepard is a solid target bet, but he's tough to get excited about with Mike Glennon under center.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (quad) was limited in Wednesday's practice. He got in limited practices last Thursday and Friday before missing Sunday's game, but he seems to be trending toward a return for this weekend's game vs. the Chargers. Unfortunately, the Giants' QB situation will make Shepard tough to trust in fantasy lineups.

Giants WRs Sterling Shepard (quad) and Kadarius Toney (quad) are inactive for today’s game vs. the Dolphins. With those guys out last week, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton operated as New York's primary outside WRs, with Pharoh Cooper in the slot. Try to avoid the situation in fantasy lineups, especially with Mike Glennon under center.

Giants WRs Sterling Shepard (quad) and Kadarius Toney (quad) are listed as doubtful for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. With those guys out last week, Kenny Golladay and Darius Slayton operate as New York's primary outside WRs, with Pharoh Cooper in the slot. Try to avoid the situation in fantasy lineups, especially with Mike Glennon under center.
