Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne returned Sunday after leaving Week 12 early with a foot injury. But he carried just 13 times for a pedestrian 54 yards and added only 12 yards on 3 catches. RB Snoop Conner handled the only other backfield touch: a 6-yard carry. RB JaMycal Hasty didn't touch the ball. Etienne and his group get a tough draw in Week 14 against the Titans' #1 run defense.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (foot) is active for today’s game against the Lions. He was limited in practice all week and listed as questionable, so there’s some added risk here. But there have been no reports on Etienne’s touches being limited today.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (foot) is expected to play vs. the Lions today, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms. As of now, there are no reports on Etienne's snaps or touches being limited today.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (foot) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Lions. HC Doug Pederson said Friday, though, that Etienne is “good to go.” We’ll keep an eye out for any reports on Etienne’s projected workload, but he’s a pretty much a must-start unless we hear that he’ll be limited on Sunday.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (foot) remained limited in Thursday's practice. We're tentatively expecting him to play vs. the Lions this weekend, but we'll see what Etienne does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne (foot) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. There's been optimism that Etienne will be able to play vs. the Lions this weekend -- and it's encouraging that he got on the field early in the week. We'll get another update on his status tomorrow.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson labeled RB Travis Etienne (foot) "day-to-day" on Wednesday and said that he's optimistic that Etienne will be able to play vs. the Lions on Sunday, according to Sports Illustrated's John Shipley. Etienne is expected to participate in the walkthrough portion of Wednesday's practice, per Pederson. We'll keep you updated on his status over the next few days.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Monday that RB Travis Etienne (foot) was cleared to return to the Ravens game but that the team decided to play it safe and hold Etienne out. That's frustrating for fantasy players who were invested in Etienne yesterday -- but it at least sounds like he'll be fine for this coming weekend's game vs. the Lions.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne was asked about his foot injury after Sunday's win over the Ravens and said, "we'll be straight for next week," according to insider John Shipley. Players, of course, tend to be optimistic about their injuries, so don't go locking Etienne into Week 13 fantasy lineups just yet. But it does sound like he avoided a significant injury. We should get another update on his status on Monday.
With RB Travis Etienne out for most of the game, JaMycal Hasty took over the lead role. He predictably struggled on the ground, gaining just 28 yards on 12 carries against a tough Ravens run D. Hasty caught all 5 of his targets for 67 yards, though, including a 28-yard score. Snoop Cooper operated as the 2nd RB -- 3 carries, 11 yards, 0 targets -- with newly acquired RB Darrell Henderson inactive. We'll see about Etienne's outlook for Week 13 (and beyond), as well as Henderson's role going forward.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne suffered a left foot injury in the 1st quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. He headed back to the locker room with trainers and is officially questionable to return. We'll update Etienne's status when we know more. This is the same foot that Etienne injured last year.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Friday that RB Darrell Henderson won't be ready to play this weekend vs. the Ravens. Henderson was just claimed by Jacksonville on Wednesday. He could eventually win the #2 RB job, but it'll be JaMycal Hasty in that spot behind Travis Etienne for at least 1 more game.
The Jaguars claimed former Rams RB Darrell Henderson off waivers. Henderson shouldn't impact RB Travis Etienne's volume much, if at all. But he is worth rostering in fantasy football as the Etienne handcuff.
Jags RB Travis Etienne managed only 11 carries for 45 yards in a Week 11 loss to Kansas City. He added just 3 catches (3 targets) on 40 Trevor Lawrence pass attempts. Game script got out of hand here, as Jacksonville fell behind 20-7 in the 1st half. That helped snap Etienne’s streak of 3 straight games with 19+ PPR points. He’ll look to rebound against Baltimore following a Week 11 bye.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne delivered 109 yards and 2 TDs on 28 carries in Sunday's come-from-behind win over the Raiders. He added 2 catches for 17 yards on 2 targets. It's the 2nd straight game of 24+ rushing attempts since Jacksonville traded RB James Robinson. RB JaMycal Hasty claimed the only 2 other RB carries (for 6 yards) vs. Vegas and caught his lone target (for 5 yards). The Jaguars head to Kansas City in Week 10, to face another soft run defense.
Jaguars RB Travis Etienne Jr. racked up 156 yards and a TD on 24 carries in Sunday morning's loss to the Broncos. He added 6 yards on 3 receptions, dominating the backfield work. JaMycal Hasty took the other 4 RB carries for 13 yards, with nearly all of that coming on a single 12-yard run. Hasty did actually beat Etienne 4-3 in targets but took his 3 receptions for a total of minus-3 yards.
Jaguars HC Doug Pederson said Wednesday, "You're not going to see anything different from [Travis Etienne]," according to Jaguar Report's John Shipley. Pederson added that JaMycal Hasty's carries will increase in the wake of the James Robinson trade. He also said, in Shipley's words, that the team wants "to make sure Etienne plays more now, but they also want to get him through the season healthy." We're not looking to Hasty as a viable weekly option for fantasy football. But he's clearly the new #2 and in for some increase in touches.
The Jaguars are trading RB James Robinson to the Jets for a conditional 6th-round pick (which could become a 5th-rounder), according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Robinson heads to a backfield that just lost Breece Hall for the season. His inside style should complement Michael Carter and keep the incumbent from taking on too heavy a workload -- and keep the team from needing to give too much to Ty Johnson. We'd still favor Carter as the better bet for PPR scoring in the Jets' backfield. He opened the season working ahead of Hall and still ranks 6th in the team in targets. Robinson's departure from Jacksonville clears the path for Travis Etienne to lead the Jags backfield the rest of the way. JaMycal Hasty should be the RB2 there going forward.
Jaguars RB James Robinson finished without a touch on a season-low 17% snap rate in Sunday's loss to the Giants. HC Doug Pederson said Monday that was at least in part to knee trouble. “He has been dealing with some lower body issues, mostly in his knees right now, but he is a big part of what we’re doing," Pederson said. "Just soreness, and he was dealing with it a little bit in the game." Robinson was not listed on the Week 7 injury report. We imagine that he'll be at least a bit more involved going forward, but Travis Etienne has clearly emerged as Jacksonville's lead back. Robinson looks like just a handcuff at this point.
The Jaguars finally gave RB Travis Etienne control of the backfield for Sunday's loss to the Giants. He handled 14 of the team's 15 RB carries, racking up 114 yards and a TD. Etienne caught just 1 of his 5 targets for 5 yards. RB James Robinson, meanwhile, garnered 0 carries and failed to catch his sole target. JaMycal Hasty got the only other RB rush (and 0 targets). Barring a revelation of some injury for Robinson, Etienne is looking startable going forward.
