Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bucs RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) has been activated from IR. That puts him on track to play in Sunday's Divisional Round game vs. the Rams. Fournette has been sidelined since Week 15, which adds some uncertainty to his role. But we're expecting him to return as Tampa's lead back. RB Le'Veon Bell was waived to make room for Fournette.

3:06pm EST 1/22/22

Titans RB Derrick Henry (foot) is officially active for today's Divisional Round game vs. the Bengals.

The Panthers named Ben McAdoo their new OC. McAdoo flamed out after just 2 seasons as the Giants' HC. But that proceeded 2 mostly successful seasons as OC. New York finished top 13 in points, total yards and passing yards in both of those years. McAdoo was a balanced play caller, with the G-Men ranking 17th and 16th in situation-neutral pass rate in 2014 and 2015, respectively. He takes over a Panthers offense that has enough talent at the skill positions but needs to find a QB.

Rams RB Darrell Henderson (knee) has been designated to return from IR. He won't play vs. the Bucs on Sunday but has a chance to suit up if Los Angeles advances to the NFC Championship. Henderson would likely return as the Rams' #3 RB behind Cam Akers and Sony Michel.

Titans RB Derrick Henry (foot) has been activated from IR, putting him on track to play in Saturday's Divisional Round game vs. the Bengals. Henry has been out since suffering a Jones Fracture in his right foot on Halloween. He had surgery a couple of days later and will be playing with a steel plate in that right foot. Henry's role and effectiveness is the biggest question mark of the weekend.

Chiefs RB Darrel Williams (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday night's Divisional Round game vs. the Bills after getting in just a limited practice on Friday. Meanwhile, RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) was a full participant all week and will play against Buffalo. It's unclear exactly what this backfield split will look like after RB Jerick McKinnon's impressive showing in the Wild Card win over the Steelers.

The 49ers announced Friday that DE Nick Bosa has cleared the concussion protocol and carries no injury status into Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers

The Buccaneers have ruled out RB Ronald Jones (ankle) and WR Breshad Perriman (hip, abdomen) for Sunday’s game against the Rams. Perriman’s absence will leave opportunity for WR Cyril Grayson, if he’s able to play. Grayson is questionable with a hamstring injury that allowed him just 1 limited practice this week. Tampa also has WR Scotty Miller behind Mike Evans and Tyler Johnson.

San Francisco 49ers DE Nick Bosa is officially questionable for Saturday night's game against the Packers after suffering a concussion in the Wild Card win at Dallas. HC Kyle Shanahan said Thursday, though, that Bosa's chances of playing are "looking good," according to ESPN's Nick Wagoner. LB Fred Warner, meanwhile, carries no injury status into Saturday's game after hurting an ankle against the Cowboys.

Buccaneers RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) participated in Thursday's practice -- the 1st non-walkthrough of the week -- according to multiple reports. We won't get an official participation level on him because Fournette is still officially on IR, so we'll have to watch the reports on him into the weekend. Tampa Bay will need to activate him by Saturday afternoon to make the RB eligible to play Sunday against the Rams. HC Bruce Arians said early in the week that Fournette hadn't yet been able to run at top speed without feeling his nagging hamstring. Fournette's availability, of course, will affect the roles of Ke'Shawn Vaughn, Le'Veon Bell and Giovani Bernard. RB Ronald Jones (ankle) remained out of practice Wednesday and Thursday and seems to be trending toward missing another game.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire has put in a pair of full practices to open the week leading up to Sunday night's clash with the Bills. That comes after CEH was inactive for the Wild Card round win over the Steelers with his shoulder injury. Darrel Williams, meanwhile, sat out practice both Wednesday and Thursday with the toe injury that limited him to just 8 snaps against Pittsburgh. Jerick McKinnon, of course, emerged as the workhorse for that game. We'll see, though, how touches get distributed now that Edwards-Helaire appears on track for full availability.

Eagles HC Nick Sirianni called WR DeVonta Smith “a number 1 WR” on Thursday. No surprise there, as Philadelphia just took Smith 10th overall. Sirianni praised Smith’s hands, competitiveness and ability to win 1 on 1s. While his 2021 usage proved inconsistent, Smith ultimately finished with a promising 103-64-916-5 line in 17 games. He's coming off the board as a high-end WR3 in early 2022 fantasy drafts.

49ers QB Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb, shoulder) is not listed on the final injury report for Saturday night's Divisional Round game vs. the Packers. He put in full practices on Thursday and Friday, so the injuries aren't a major concern.

Packers WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) is doubtful for this weekend’s game against San Francisco. MVS was a limited participant in Tuesday’s practice but missed the next 2 sessions. Current projections have Davante Adams for nearly 11 targets; Allen Lazard #2 on the team with nearly 6.

1:55pm EST 1/20/22

Chiefs LB Willie Gay Jr. has been arrested and charged with misdemeanor property damage after an alleged domestic dispute with the mother of his son. We wouldn't bet on the situation affecting Gay's availability for Sunday's game against the Bills, but it'll be something to watch for potential league discipline.

Eagles GM Howie Roseman threw his support behind QB Jalen Hurts as the team's starter in Wednesday's end-of-season press conference. "We talk about Jalen and the growth he had, really as a first-year starter and second-year player and leading this team to the playoffs," Roseman said. "I’m tremendously impressed by his work ethic and his leadership. The last time we talked was during camp and we said we wanted to see him take the bull by the horn, and he certainly did that." Hurts completed 61.3% of his passes and averaged 7.3 yards per attempt with 16 TDs vs. 9 INTs in 2021, ranking 22nd among 31 qualifiers in QB Rating. He also led all QBs with 782 rushing yards and 10 TDs to finish 10th in fantasy points. We'll see if Philly's actions this offseason match Roseman's comments. If Hurts enters 2022 as the starter, he'll be a lower-end QB1 in fantasy drafts.

Packers HC Matt LaFleur said Wednesday that he "would anticipate" WR Randall Cobb playing in Saturday's Divisional Round game vs. the 49ers. Cobb has been sidelined since undergoing core-muscle surgery after Week 12. His return would be especially important if WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling (back) is out.

Bucs WR Breshad Perriman (hip, abdomen) did not practice on Wednesday. His absence would leave Scotty Miller as Tampa's likely #3 WR alongside Mike Evans and Tyler Johnson.

Bucs RB Ronald Jones (ankle) remained sidelined on Wednesday. That doesn't bode well for his chances of returning for this weekend's Divisional Round game vs. the Rams. We'll see if Tampa gets RB Leonard Fournette back from his hamstring injury.

Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (shoulder) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That seemingly puts him on track to return for Sunday's Divisional Round game vs. the Bills. It's unclear, though, how touches will be divvied after RB Jerick McKinnon's impressive performance in the Wild Card Round. RB Darrel Williams (toe) did not practice on Wednesday.
