Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chiefs LB Anthony Hitchens (triceps) has been ruled out for Monday night's game against the Giants. Without Hitchens in Week 7, playing time for the top 3 Chiefs LBs went: Nick Bolton 84%, Ben Niemann 74%, Willie Gay Jr. 68%. We'd expect a similar setup this week. CB Charvarius Ward (foot) is questionable. We'll update his status Monday evening, but you'd be better off looking elsewhere for a fantasy CB.

The Jets have activated LB Jarrad Davis off IR. He has been out since August with an ankle injury. We'll see what role Davis plays but would not trust him in IDP lineups immediately.

The Eagles have promoted RB Jordan Howard from practice squad. He'll be in the 3-man backfield mix for Sunday's game at Detroit. We're not betting on a big fantasy contribution from Howard, but Philly figures to continue spreading touches among multiple players. The team also officially placed RB Miles Sanders (ankle) on IR Saturday.

The Broncos are activating WR Jerry Jeudy from IR (ankle). NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that "he's on track to make his return" against Washington on Sunday. Jeudy will carry some risk for fantasy football lineups, but also intriguing upside. Check our WR rankings to see if he's worth a shot for your team.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott reportedly said he expected a decision following Saturday's practice on whether he'll start Sunday night against the Vikings. ESPN's Ed Werder, however, says 2 sources have called it a game-time decision. He quoted one as saying, "We are literally going to take it into tomorrow (night)." If it's truly a game-time decision for Sunday night, that would take the call beyond when most other QBs are starting their games. Waiting on Prescott will bring some risk this week.

Giants WR Sterling Shepard (hamstring) is questionable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. It sounds like the team expects him to play, though. ESPN's Jordan Ranaan tweeted Saturday: "Sterling Shepard is good. He's going to play barring a last minute setback." Plan to have Shepard available for fantasy usage this week.

Giants WR Kadarius Toney is questionable for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. He returned to practice Friday and looked good in a brief video from Saturday's workout. We'd bet on him playing, but you should have an insurance option available if you plan to play him.

The Giants have ruled WR Kenny Golladay (knee) out for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. Golladay has yet to return to practice. We'll see whether he's ready for Week 9. A Week 10 bye, though, might factor into that decision.

The Giants have officially ruled RB Saquon Barkley (ankle) out for Monday night's game against the Chiefs. That comes as no surprise, with Barkley yet to return to practice. It locks in Devontae Booker as a solid RB2 for PPR lineups.

Broncos OLB Von Miller (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's game against Washington. He missed practice all week, though, despite the longer break after playing Thursday night in Week 7. It was reported after he got hurt in Cleveland that Miller appeared likely to miss team. We'd try to not use him in IDP lineups this week even if active.

Buccaneers LB Lavonte David (ankle), EDGE Jason Pierre-Paul (shoulder, hand) and CB Richard Sherman (hamstring) are questionable for Sunday's game against the Saints. David finished the week with a full practice and should be ready to return. JPP missed practice all week but did so last week as well and then played through a questionable tag. Sherman was limited all week but shouldn't be in anyone's IDP plans anyway.

Chargers LB Drue Tranquill (chest) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Patriots. We'll check his status Sunday afternoon, but Tranquill isn't a high-level IDP option even if active. S Nasir Adderley is good to go after missing the last game with a hip injury. He practiced in full all week and didn't appear on the final injury report.

The Patriots rolled out their usual list of questionable starters Friday, this time including LB Ja'Whaun Bentley (ribs), DB Kyle Dugger (neck), DT Davon Godchaux (finger), LB Dont'a Hightower (ankle), LB Kyle Van Noy (groin) and DE Deatrich Wise (knee). We'll check the status for all Sunday afternoon. All of those players put in limited practices all week.

Titans LB Rashaan Evans is questionable for Sunday's game against the Colts after popping up on Friday's injury report with an ankle issue that kept him out of practice. That should keep Evans out of IDP lineups even if he's active. The team also designated LB Jayon Brown to return from IR this week. We don't yet know whether he has a chance to play Sunday.

Lions EDGE Trey Flowers (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Eagles. He spent all week limited in practice after playing through a questionable tag last week. We'd bet he'll play, but we'll confirm his status Sunday.

Texans LB Christian Kirksey is questionable for Sunday's game against the Rams. He fractured a thumb late in last week's game. Kirksey said Thursday, though, that he plans to play through the injury. We'll confirm his status Sunday.

Rams CB Jalen Ramsey and S Jordan Fuller are questionable for Sunday's game against the Texans. Ramsey missed Thursday and Friday practices with an illness. We'd bet on him being ready for the game. Fuller sat out Wednesday's and Thursday's workouts completely with a knee issue but return for a full Friday practice. We'll check the status for both Sunday morning.

Panthers LB Shaq Thompson (foot) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Falcons. He put in limited practices all week after missing the previous game. It sounds like Thompson expects to be ready, but we'll check his status Sunday morning.

Dolphins LB Jerome Baker (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills after putting in limited practices all week. We'll check his status Sunday morning.

Seahawks HC Pete Carroll suggested Friday that RB Chris Carson's neck issue isn't improving and that he might not be able to return this season. “He’s got to make a turn here to show us that he’s feeling better and good enough to really go for it,” Carroll said. “He hasn’t been able to come out to practice yet and go. Pretty soon, you’re going to say, ‘Is he going to make it back?’ and I’m not ready to do that yet. But really keeping my fingers crossed for him that he gets to come back and play." We'll continue to keep an eye on the situation, but fantasy owners can't be counting on Carson contributing the rest of the way.
