A.J. Brown, WR PHI

8:45pm EDT 9/25/24

A.J. Brown & DeVonta Smith Out Wednesday

Eagles WRs A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. Smith is unlikely to clear protocol in time for this weekend's game vs. the Bucs. And Brown looks no better than 50/50 to make it back for that one. If both guys are out, Philadelphia would be down to WRs Jahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson on the active roster. WR Parris Campbell was elevated from the practice squad for last week's game and would likely play again on Sunday. RB Saquon Barkley and TE Dallas Goedert would be the focal points of the offense.

Eagles WR Britain Covey broke a bone in his left shoulder in Sunday's win at New Orleans and is expected to miss at least six weeks, according to Philly radio voice Merrill Reese. Covey played just seven snaps before leaving the Week 3 game but nabbed 6 receptions the week before and has been the primary punt returner.

Eagles WR Johnny Wilson has had a strong start to training camp and is making a run at the No. 3 WR job, according to The Athletic's Brooks Kubena. Wilson has started getting first-team reps, while WR Parris Campbell is sidelined with an injury.

Giants TE Darren Waller logged 6 catches on a team-leading 8 targets for 76 yards in Week 2’s win vs. the Cardinals. Veteran wideouts Darius Slayton and Parris Campbell received 6 targets in this contest, marking the second week in a row where the pair saw more involvement than their positional counterparts. The concentration of targets in New York is becoming more apparent as fantasy managers look ahead to Thursday night’s Week 3 game vs. the 49ers. Starting a Giants pass-catcher besides Waller in lineups would be bold outside of deeper leagues, though both Slayton and Campbell warrant further monitoring.

ESPN's Jordan Raanan has come away from minicamp believing WR Parris Campbell will be a "big part" of the offense this season. "See him as top producer out of the new WRs this season," Ranaan tweeted. "At one point Tuesday. He caught three straight passes. Working mostly out of slot." Campbell is one of a plethora of primary slot receivers on the Giants roster, along with Wan'Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, and Jamison Crowder. It sounds like Campbell is the early favorite to win that job, but he's still not an exciting fantasy pick in what figures to be a run-leaning offense featuring RB Saquon Barkley and TE Darren Waller.
