Check this out: Per PFF, 81.8% of his targets came either behind the line of scrimmage or within nine yards. His average depth of target: a career-low 5.1 yards.

In ten games with Jones, Robinson averaged:

• 7.0 yards per catch
• 4.7 yards per target

In seven games without Jones:

• 8.2 yards per catch
• 5.4 yards per target

Overall, his 5.0 yards per target ranked tenth worst out of 1,158 WR seasons of 100+ targets since 1992 (per Pro Football Reference).

Offensive Context

Malik Nabers arrived as a top-five draft pick. He instantly commanded a huge target share (32.2%).

However, a lack of pass catchers elsewhere helped Robinson rack up the volume. The Giants also posted a -142 point differential, propping up their 63% pass rate (seventh league-wide).

Of course, QB play proved horrendous. Daniel Jones, Drew Lock, and Tommy DeVito combined for a 61.9% completion rate and 6.0 yards per attempt. They averaged 190 yards and .88 TDs per game.

The Giants finished 30th in total yards and 31st in points.

Historical Production & Trends

Robinson’s well established as a short-range target.

Through three seasons, he’s played nearly 79% of his passing snaps out of the slot. Only 5% of his career targets have come on passes traveling 20+ air yards, per PFF.

Injury History

Robinson played all 17 games. He last missed time early in the 2023 season while he recovered from a 2022 ACL tear.

2025 Expectations

Projected Role & Competition

Robinson enters a contract year with no competition for slot snaps.

The Giants re-signed Darius Slayton on a three-year deal, but he’ll primarily play outside. The same is true for second-year star Malik Nabers.

RBs Tyrone Tracy and Cam Skattebo – plus TE Theo Johnson – bring pass-catching potential. But we don’t expect them to threaten Robinson’s short-range looks.

Supporting Cast

New York projects to trot out at least two QBs in 2025.

Russell Wilson will be the Week 1 starter, barring a major surprise. He was OK with Pittsburgh in 2024, posting a 63.7% completion rate and 7.4 yards per attempt. While his play clearly improved from a disastrous 2023 in Denver, Wilson remained far from the Pro Bowl level we saw in Seattle.

Don’t bet on him playing the entire season. New York added Round 1 QB Jaxson Dart and veteran gunslinger Jameis Winston in free agency.

The Giants reportedly want Dart to sit and learn for the entire 2025 season. But we know how plans can change once games begin.

This unit at least looks noticeably improved from 2024.

Coaching & Offensive Scheme

Robinson returns for his fourth season in the Brian Daboll-Mike Kafka offense.

A strong grasp of the playbook is nice, but we’ve yet to see this duo prove that they’re difference makers. If there’s one promising improvement from 2024, it’s Robinson’s involvement in the red zone. In fact, Robinson saw 38.6% of New York’s red zone targets last season – second-most of any WR league-wide.
