Vikings RB Aaron Jones went 9-78-0 on the ground while hauling in both his targets for 20 yards. Though he didn’t score a TD, Jones’ 8.7 yards per carry offers a glimmer of hope for his fantasy future. But that was propped up a bit by a 31-yard scamper. Unfortunately, his split with Jordan Mason continues to crush both players’ fantasy values. Mason went 10-36-0 on the ground, catching his only target for a yard.
Mason outsnapped Jones 37 to 26, the only RBs to see the field. Jones did run more routes than Mason 14 to 11. Mason’s additional snaps and Jones additional usage as a receiver makes neither a good fantasy bet moving forward. If either break a big run or earn more targets, there could be spike weeks, but they will be tough to guess.
Jones and Mason have a positive match-up next week against the Ravens, but Baltimore’s defense has come on as of late. The only positive for them may be their fantasy playoff schedule. They have the Cowboys and Giants on Weeks 15 and 16, respectively, two of the worst run defenses in the league.
J.J. McCarthy also flashes some fantasy value despite only throwing for 143 yards on 25 attempts. He threw 2 TDs and ran in another, but did toss one INT.
The Vikings offense outside of Justin Jefferson appears fairly miserable for fantasy moving forward, and even Jefferson may not hit the heights of WRs like Puka Nacua and CeeDee Lamb.
The only positive is that the Vikings’ WRs have the easiest remaining WR schedule in the league, including two positive fantasy playoff match-ups against the Cowboys and Lions
