If you were hoping the bye week would give Eagles coaches time to fix the offense's issues, then Monday night's win over the Packers delivered some disappointment. Philly continued to lean on an inefficient run game, rushing 31 times (at 3.3 yards a pop) while dropping QB Jalen Hurts back just 29 times. WR DeVonta Smith refused to let the poor passing night kill his fantasy value. He went up to snatch a fourth-quarter TD over Packers S Evan Williams. That supplied the winning margin and delivered most of the fantasy value to Smith's 4-69-1 receiving line for the game. He drew a team-high seven targets. TE Dallas Goedert followed at six targets, catching four for 43 yards. WR A.J. Brown also allegedly played in the game, totaling 2 catches for 13 yards on three targets.
What They're Saying
Saquon Barkley on Smith after the game: "I feel like people forget that he won the Heisman. He's a pretty good f****** football player. I don't know why that's, like, forgotten. You know how hard it is to win the Heisman? Shout out to Smitty. He comes up big for us every single time."
2025 Fantasy Football Impact
Smith narrowly leads Brown in targets per game for the season, 6.9 to 6.75. (Brown missed one game.) He holds significantly larger leads, though, in receptions per game (5.3 to 3.9) and yards per game (73.0 to 51.0).
Smith is also crushing Brown in:
- catch rate -- 77.4% to 57.4%
- success rate -- 59.7% to 48.1%
- yards per target -- 10.6 to 7.6
- and first downs -- 28 to 16
We've held out hope for a Brown rebound for too long. It's past time to acknowledge that Smith's the better bet (real life and fantasy) going forward this season.
Let's just hope that Brown and the Eagles resolve whatever his issues are ahead of next year, because this season has been way out of line with the rest of his career.
Passing Game Struggles vs. Packers
Philly managed just 183 passing yards in all for Monday night's win. Jalen Hurts' 7.0 yards per pass attempt were his fewest since Week 4. And even that number got a huge boost from a 41-yard, fourth-quarter catch-and-run by Saquon Barkley on a swing pass.
Green Bay sits ninth in the league in pass DVOA and eighth in total defensive DVOA. So it was a predictably challenging matchup.
The Eagles also clearly planned a rushing focus. That plan included adding an extra offensive lineman on 12 plays, each of which found them running Saquon Barkley.
We'll see how much of that was game-plan specific for Green Bay.
Week 11 holds a Lions D that ranks fifth in total DVOA, third against the pass, and sixth against the run.
After that, Philly draws the fourth-best remaining schedule for WR scoring by our adjusted fantasy points allowed.
