Week 1 Overview

Goedert starts the season just outside the top 12 in our TE rankings, which matches his preseason positioning. But if you drafted him as your top TE, there's nothing scary about the Dallas matchup. The Cowboys created a big pass-rush question by trading Micah Parsons away. And a renovated LB group means we'll need to see how coverage fares in the middle of the field. The biggest factor working against Goedert: A one-sided game could limit the passing volume for a Philly offense that already leans that way.

It marked the fifth time among his past six games that Goedert scored at least once. He has scored seven times over that span, two TDs more than his previous high for a full season (set in 2019).

Eagles WR A.J. Brown (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants. This one came out of nowhere after Brown finished last week’s game – although he does have a lengthy history of hamstring trouble. The Eagles have a Week 9 bye, which might have played a part in the decision to sit Brown this week. His absence is a hit to QB Jalen Hurts’ fantasy outlook and should mean even more concentrated targets on WR DeVonta Smith and TE Dallas Goedert.

Eagles TE Dallas Goedert was the focal point of the offense in Thursday night's loss to the Giants. He led the team with 11 targets, nine catches, and 110 yards. And he scored the only receiving TD of the night, taking an underhand pass from QB Jalen Hurts and following a convoy of blockers into the end zone from three yards out.
