Raiders WR Jakobi Meyers (knee, toe) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Chiefs. That leaves Tre Tucker as Vegas’ No. 1 WR, with rookies Jack Bech and D’Onte Thornton behind him. Tucker is the only bankable fantasy play here.

Raiders rookie WR Jack Bech played easily his largest role to date in Sunday's loss to the Colts. Bech wound up third among Vegas WRs in total snaps (four ahead of Dont'e Thornton) but trailed Thornton 23-19 in routes. Bech drew five targets, posting 3 receptions for 27 yards.

Raiders WR Tre Tucker caught 8 of 9 targets for 145 yards and 3 TDs. He had a TD 10-yard TD in the second quarter before the game got out of hand. Garbage time TDs of 10 and 61 yards while the game was out of reach propped up his stat line. Even so, he should be a hot waiver commodity this week.

QB Geno Smith threw for 362 yards in his regular-season debut for the Raiders, with 1 TD and 1 INT. Smith connected on 24 of 34 passes, with WR Jakobi Meyers and TE Brock Bowers predictably his top targets. He also took four sacks and scrambled once. (Smith's other "rushing attempt" came on a game-ending kneel down.)

WR Amari Cooper has informed the Raiders that he's retiring, NFL Network reports. The decision comes just a little over a week after Cooper re-joined the team that drafted him back in 2015. It was a quick fall for Cooper, who went for 1,250 yards in 2023 before totaling just 547 yards between stints with the Browns and Bills last year.

Free Agent WR Amari Cooper signed a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Raiders WR Dont'e Thornton regularly ran with the first-team offense this spring. The Athletic's Tashan Reed lists Thornton as a starter in his 53-man roster projection, alongside Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker.

The Raiders selected Tennessee WR Dont’e Thornton with the 108th pick of Round 4 in the 2025 NFL Draft. Thornton led the Volunteers in receiving yards and led all of FBS in yards per reception at 25.42. His 4.30 40-time at nearly 6’5 and 205 pounds is extremely impressive. Thornton was a four-star recruit who headed to Oregon based on his speed and athletic ability. He never quite developed in Eugene, but he found some success as a deep threat in Tennessee over the last two seasons. He had a 9.85 Relative Athletic Score (RAS) based on his predraft testing. He also ranked 48th among Combine WRs in 2024 Target Share at 9.1%, and 18th among those WRs in PFF Receiving Grade with an 80.6. He is currently 22 years old with a Breakout Age of 18.8. He ranked 25th among WRs in our Draft Sharks predraft Rookie Model scoring 6.00. Our Comp for him in our Rookie Guide is Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Thornton is likely a one-trick pony in the NFL, but he may develop into one of the best deep threats in the league.
