Michael Pittman Jr. Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (oblique) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars. He was limited in practice all week. QB Joe Flacco was reportedly taking the first-team reps in the portion of Friday’s practice open to the media. We’ll look for further updates on Richardson’s status and get the Colts’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. WRs Michael Pittman and Josh Downs will get significant boosts up our rankings if Flacco ends up starting.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. racked up 113 yards on 6 receptions in Sunday's win over the Steelers. That more than doubles his season receiving yardage after Pittman totaled just 88 yards through the first three games. It would be easy to attribute the breakthrough to QB Anthony Richardson leaving early with a hip injury. But Pittman made catches of 32 and 28 yards among Richardson's mere four pass attempts before leaving the game. That marked 53% of Pittman's yardage for the game.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson has been diagnosed with a hip pointer, NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reports. The "hope" is that Richardson "misses very little or no game action," Wolfe adds. It's relatively good news, although it sounds like Richardson isn't a lock to be ready for Week 5. We'll keep you updated on his progress this coming week.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back, calf) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday, although HC Shane Steichen never expressed much concern about his availability for this one. Pittman remains in WR3 territory in the Week 3 Rankings.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back, calf) is expected to play vs. the Bears today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Pittman was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. It adds risk to a guy who already projected as just a WR3 in this low-volume Colts passing game.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (back, calf) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bears. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Friday. HC Shane Steichen said Friday afternoon that he expected Pittman to play, but his status will be worth monitoring leading up to the 1 pm ET kickoff.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. The team is wisely playing it safe with his return from a high-ankle sprain. Downs should be back for Week 3, but we’ll track his progress this coming week. His absence keeps Michael Pittman, Alec Pierce, and Adonai Mitchell locked in as Indianapolis’ clear top three WRs.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. He officially didn’t practice all week but was seen sprinting on Friday. We’ll see if Downs can make it back from his high-ankle sprain for Week 2. Michael Pittman, Adonai Mitchell, and Alec Pierce will operate as Indianapolis’ clear top three WRs this weekend.

Colts WR Josh Downs (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He's four weeks removed from suffering a high-ankle sprain and seems unlikely to be ready for Sunday's opener vs. the Texans. We'll continue to track Downs' status and see if he can make it back for Week 2.

Colts WR Josh Downs suffered a high-ankle sprain in Wednesday's practice, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "The outlook right now is that Downs could miss about a month, but the Colts are sorting that out," Fowler adds.

Colts QB Anthony Richardson (shoulder) will not have any restrictions to start training camp, according to Colts GM Chris Ballard.

The Colts signed QB Joe Flacco to a one-year deal worth "up to" $8.7 million, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Flacco gets $4.5 million guaranteed. The 2023 Comeback Player of the Year played well down the stretch for the Browns last season, averaging 321 passing yards on a 63% completion rate and 7.7 yards per attempt across six outings. He tossed 14 TDs but also 10 INTs. Flacco is quality insurance for the Colts behind QB Anthony Richardson, who made it through just two full games as a rookie last year. The signing makes guys like WR Michael Pittman and WR Josh Downs slightly safer fantasy bets.

The Colts have agreed to a three-year deal with WR Michael Pittman Jr. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports it'll pay $70 million ($71.5 million max), with $46 million of that guaranteed. The contract gets rid of the franchise tag, which Indy had applied to ensure the wideout didn't reach free agency. Pittman looks like a top-20 dynasty WR for the next few years. We'll see what a full season of QB Anthony Richardson means for his production. Richardson got just two full games in his rookie campaign. Check our dynasty WR rankings to see where Pittman fits in your format.

The Colts are using their franchise tag on WR Michael Pittman. The two sides have been working on a long-term deal and have until July 15 to get something done. If they don't, Pittman will play the 2024 season on a one-year, $21.8 million deal. The 26-year-old has scored as a top-20 PPR WR in each of the last three seasons, including a career-best WR14 finish last year. He's holding steady at 16th in our dynasty WR rankings.

Colts WR Michael Pittman Jr. returned from missing Week 16 with a shoulder injury to regain control of the team's receiving in Sunday's win over the Raiders. Pittman posted an unimpressive 5-46 receiving line on 7 targets. But he drew a target on 30.4% of the team's pass attempts and claimed 33.3% of Colts completions. WR Alec Pierce took his lone catch for a 58-yard TD to lead the team in receiving yards. Rookie WR Josh Downs followed with 53 yards on just 2 receptions. QB Gardner Minshew attempted just 23 passes, completing 15 for 224 yards on a day that found Indy running on more than half of its offensive plays. Pittman looks like the only startable Colts pass-catcher for most fantasy formats in Week 18. Indy faces Houston, which allowed Pittman 8 receptions back in Week 2. Pittman also caught 8+ passes in six straight full outings before the Week 15 game he left early.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Raiders. He was a full-go in practice on Thursday and Friday and should be ready for his usual high-volume role today.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Raiders. He was a full-go in practice on Thursday and Friday. HC Shane Steichen said Friday that Pittman has cleared protocol and is on track to play against Vegas. We’ll get the Colts’ inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

Colts WR Michael Pittman (concussion, shoulder) was a full participant in Thursday's practice. He's on track to play vs. the Raiders this weekend -- but, of course, we said the same thing last week before Pittman had a setback. We'll continue to track his progress leading up to Sunday's kickoff.
