Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Seahawks RBs Ken Walker (ankle) and DeeJay Dallas (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. RB Travis Homer (knee) was limited. So Homer is out to the early lead in the race to be Seattle's Week 14 lead back. He's worth adding in most fantasy leagues while we continue to monitor this backfield over the next few days. The Seahawks also have RB Tony Jones on the active roster and RBs Wayne Gallman and Darwin Thompson on the practice squad
Seahawks RB Kenneth Walker is dealing with a strain on the inside of his foot, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. The injury is not believed to be serious, and the team reportedly doesn't even consider him out for Week 14 at this point. We'll see how the week progresses for the rookie back. If Walker does miss the game, Seattle would replace him with some combo of DeeJay Dallas, Travis Homer (who was inactive Sunday) and Tony Jones Jr.
Seahawks RB DeeJay Dallas is doubtful to return to Sunday's game vs. the Rams with an ankle injury. With RB Kenneth Walker out with his own ankle injury, Seattle is down to RB Tony Jones.
Update: Dallas surprisingly returned in the 2nd half.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (ribs) is officially inactive for today's game vs. the Vikings. It's a surprise after he played through this issue last week. Insider Nick Underhill says that Kamara is "looking to get healthy for the long haul." When Kamara missed Week 2, Ingram handled 10 of 16 RB carries and saw 2 targets. He wasn't at 100% for that game, though, and could see a bit more work today. RB Tony Jones is a healthy scratch today, so it's Ingram, Dwayne Washington and Latavius Murray, just called up from the practice squad, in New Orleans' backfield. See where Ingram sits in the Week 4 RB Rankings.
With a rib injury sidelining RB Alvin Kamara, RB Mark Ingram led the backfield in Sunday's loss to the Buccaneers. He carried 10 times for 60 yards and caught his only 2 targets for 3 more. Dwayne Washington (4-18 rushing) and Tony Jones Jr. (2-8 rushing, 2-12 receiving) factored in as well. Jones actually led the group in playing team, beating Ingram by 9 snaps and 14 routes. New Orleans couldn't get much of anything going in a game that saw the Saints score only 10 points. We'll see about Kamara's status for Week 3.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (rib) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Bucs. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 3. RB Mark Ingram (ankle) is active and should operate as New Orleans’ lead back today. He finished RB10 and RB13 in half-PPR points in 2 starts in place of Kamara last year. But his ankle issue and a tough matchup leave him in RB3 territory in the Week 2 Rankings. RBs Tony Jones and Dwayne Washington are also active for the Saints.
Saints insider Mike Triplett believes RB Mark Ingram might "split work" with RB Tony Jones vs. the Bucs today. "Normally I’d recommend Mark Ingram as a strong fantasy play with Alvin Kamara out. But this week I think Ingram is a risky fantasy option since he was limited by his own injury all week and Saints are facing Tampa Bay’s stout run D," Triplett writes. We're still expecting Ingram to lead the backfield in snaps and touches today, but he looks like just a low-end RB3 or flex play.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (rib) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Bucs. He was limited in Wednesday's practice but sidelined on Thursday and Friday. So Kamara looks truly iffy for this one. RBs Mark Ingram (ankle) and Dwayne Washington (hamstring) are also listed as questionable after limited weeks of practice. The Saints also have RB Tony Jones on the active roster and RB Latavius Murray on the practice squad. We'll get their inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Saints Wire projects undrafted rookie RB Abram Smith to land on New Orleans' practice squad, leaving Dwayne Washington and Tony Jones Jr. behind Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram II on the regular-season roster. Ingram looked pretty good after returning to New Orleans from Houston last season, but he's also 32 (33 in December). The 12th-year vet does look like the #2 RB for the Saints, as expected, ahead of a pair of reserves who have done little through multiple NFL seasons and a UDFA who clearly has more to prove.
Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Panthers. Tony Jones will step in as New Orleans’ #2 RB – but RB Alvin Kamara should get a volume boost with Ingram out.
Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) is "unlikely" to play vs. the Panthers today, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Rapoport adds that RB Tony Jones "should assume his snaps," but we'd expect RB Alvin Kamara to get more touches with Ingram out. Kamara racked up 27 carries and 5 targets when Ingram missed Week 14's game vs. the Jets.
Saints RB Tony Jones is a healthy scratch for tonight's game vs. the Cowboys. Mark Ingram will operate as New Orleans' lead back, with Ty Montgomery in a change-of-pace role.
Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) is inactive for tonight's game vs. the Bills. With RB Alvin Kamara (knee) also out, Tony Jones is expected to operate as New Orleans' lead back. RB Dwayne Washington will be the #2.
Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) is "doubtful" for tonight's game vs. the Bills, NFL Network reports. With RB Alvin Kamara (knee) already ruled out, New Orleans is down to RBs Tony Jones and Dwayne Washington. Jones is expected to operate as the lead back and is a volume-based RB2 in fantasy lineups.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says Saints RB Mark Ingram (knee) "has a chance" to play vs. the Bills tonight but adds, "it's a bit of an uphill battle to play, but no one has ruled him out." It sounds like Ingram might be a bit worse than 50/50 to play tonight. If he joins RB Alvin Kamara on the inactive list, New Orleans will be down to Tony Jones as lead back. Jones would be a borderline RB2 in that scenario.
Saints RB Alvin Kamara (knee) is out for Thursday night's game vs. the Bills. He didn't practice all week. RB Mark Ingram (knee) is listed as questionable after putting in limited practices on Monday and Wednesday. We'll look for updates on his status and get New Orleans' inactives around 7 pm ET on Thursday. If Ingram can't go, Tony Jones would step in as the Saints' lead back.
Saints RBs Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram missed Tuesday's practice with knee injuries. Kamara seems like a long shot to make it back for Thursday night's game vs. the Bills. Ingram's status is less clear. The veteran might just be getting some time off on the short week, but check back tomorrow for another update. Insider Nick Underhill says RB Tony Jones would "carry the load" if Kamara and Ingram are out Thursday. Jones is a fine speculative pickup tonight.
Saints RB Tony Jones (ankle) has been activated from IR. He figures to serve as the #2 RB behind Mark Ingram vs. the Eagles on Sunday. Jones isn't a fantasy option; Ingram remains a solid RB2 play.
Saints RB Tony Jones is expected to miss 3-4 weeks with an ankle injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Giants, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Jones can be dropped from fantasy rosters. The Saints signed RB Devine Ozigbo in a corresponding move. It's now Ozigbo, Dwayne Washington and Ty Montgomery behind Alvin Kamara on the depth chart. Kamara will continue to dominate backfield work.
