Bryce Young, QB CAR

Panthers Benching Bryce Young for Andy Dalton

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that the Panthers are benching QB Bryce Young in favor of Andy Dalton "beginning this week." Young threw for just 245 yards, 0 TDs, and 3 INTs over the season's first two games. Carolina visits the Raiders on Sunday.

Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll be back under center for Sunday's game vs. the Vikings. Young has mustered just 4.2 yards per attempt so far this season and is just a low-end QB2 for Week 4, despite the plus matchup. Consider Young a slight downgrade from QB Andy Dalton for Carolina's pass catchers.

Panthers QB Bryce Young (ankle) was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice. That should put him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Vikings. Young still has plenty of long-term upside but has struggled so far, completing 59% of his passes at 4.2 yards per attempt. He looks like at least a minor downgrade from QB Andy Dalton.

Panthers QB Bryce Young is returning to practice Wednesday after missing Week 3 with an ankle injury. NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reports that it appears Young "has a good shot to return to action" for Sunday's game against the Vikings. We wouldn't plan to use Young outside of deep superflex leagues -- and would even try to lean away from him there. Young averaged just 4.2 yards per pass attempt across the first two games, with a 2.8% TD rate that matched his INT rate. If Young can't play, Andy Dalton would be at least a little more attractive. He threw for 361 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs at Seattle last week.

Panthers QB Andy Dalton racked up 361 yards and 2 TDs on 34-of-58 passing in place of Bryce Young in Sunday's loss to the Seahawks. Carolina leaned surprisingly heavily on the pass, considering the team stayed within one score of Seattle until late in the third quarter. With the Sunday night and Monday games yet to go, Dalton sits seventh among QBs in fantasy points (by ESPN scoring). Dalton will carry some streaming potential for a Week 4 matchup with the Vikings if Young remains out.
