40-year-old QB Joe Flacco showed he's still got some elite ability on Sunday, but the Bengals bungled a brief 4th quarter lead to lose a wild 47-42 shootout to Caleb Williams and the Bears. Flacco's 470 passing yards were a career-high and also set an NFL record for the oldest QB to surpass 450 passing yards, but it wasn't enough as Williams hit TE Colston Loveland for a 58-yard TD with 17 seconds to give the Bears the win.

Bengals QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Bears. He only got in a limited practice on Thursday, although HC Zac Taylor was encouraged by what he saw from the veteran in that workout. There was also optimism about Flacco’s status on Saturday. Still, a 40-year-old QB with a bad throwing shoulder is a risky fantasy proposition. We’d stay away from Flacco in 1-QB fantasy leagues.

Bengals QB Joe Flacco (shoulder) is "planning" to start against the Bears tomorrow, "barring something unforeseen with his AC joint sprain in his right shoulder," according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Flacco only got in a limited practice on Thursday, but that workout reportedly went well. Still, Rapoport notes that "no one knows how [the shoulder] will react. But he's giving it a shot." Not very reassuring. We'd avoid using Flacco in 1-QB leagues this week and consider him a risk/reward play in 2-QB and superflex leagues.
