Todd Downing will replace Nathaniel Hackett as the Jets' play-caller, interim HC Jeff Ulbrich announced on Thursday. While defensive-minded HC Robert Saleh was canned earlier this week, the offense has been the real problem in New York. The Jets rank 23rd in points, 27th in total yards, and 27th in yards per play. That's largely on Hackett, who has deployed a stale offense. We're just not sure it'll get much better with Downing. He's spent three seasons as an NFL OC, one with the Raiders and two with the Titans. Those offenses ranked 17th, 17th, and 30th in total yards.
