Jets TE Mason Taylor (quad) is active for today’s game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. The quad and QB Justin Fields add risk to Taylor’s Week 8 profile. But he gains target upside with WRs Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds out. And he has an excellent matchup against Cincinnati’s 32nd-ranked TE defense.
Jets TE Mason Taylor (quad) is "likely" to play vs. the Bengals tomorrow, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Taylor was added to the injury report and did not practice on Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. The quad issue adds risk to Taylor's Week 8 outlook, as does QB Justin Fields. But Taylor has plenty of target upside with WRs Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds out. And he gets the league's 32nd-ranked TE defense.
Jets WR Josh Reynold (hip) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report on Friday and originally listed as questionable. Reynolds was the best target bet in New York's Garrett Wilson-less WR corps. Now the Jets are down to WRs Arian Smith, Allen Lazard, Tyler Johnson, and Isaiah Williams. Avoid the situation in all fantasy formats. TE Mason Taylor is the favorite to lead the team in targets vs. Cincinnati -- if he's able to play through the quad injury that has him listed as questionable.
Jets TE Mason Taylor (quad) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He was added to the injury report and did not practice on Thursday but returned to a limited practice on Friday. We’ll look for further updates on Taylor and get New York’s inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.
Jets TE Mason Taylor was added to the injury report and did not practice on Thursday with a quad issue. Taylor has a great Week 8 matchup vs. the Bengals' league-worst TE defense, but his availability for that one is now in question. Check back tomorrow for an update on his status.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson (knee) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Panthers. We’ll see if he can make it back for Week 8, but it’s worth noting that New York has a Week 9 bye. Wilson’s absence leaves Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson, Arian Smith, and Allen Lazard as New York’s top four WRs. That’s a situation to avoid. TE Mason Taylor is the favorite to lead the Jets in targets.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson (knee) is listed as doubtful for Sunday’s game vs. the Panthers. He won’t play in that one, although we suppose being listed doubtful instead of out is good news for his chances of making it back for Week 8. Wilson's absence on Sunday leaves Josh Reynolds, Tyler Johnson, Arian Smith, and Allen Lazard as New York’s top four WRs. We wouldn’t mess with any of them in fantasy lineups. TE Mason Taylor is the favorite to lead the team in targets.
Jets WR Garrett Wilson has been diagnosed with a hyperextended knee and is expected to miss “a couple of weeks," a source tells ESPN's Adam Schefter. So fantasy owners should plan on Wilson missing the next two games vs. the Panthers and Bengals. The Jets then get a Week 9 bye, and Wilson should be back for Week 10.
Jets TE Mason Taylor (ankle) is active for today’s game vs. the Bills. He got in a full practice on Friday, so the ankle shouldn’t be a major issue. Taylor’s 84% route rate in the opener keeps him on the fantasy radar. But he drew just one target in that one. He’s not a viable Week 2 fantasy play.
Jets TE Mason Taylor (ankle) is officially questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bills. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice, so the rookie should play. But he’s not a viable fantasy option after drawing just 1 target in the opener.
Jets TE Mason Taylor (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday, putting his status for this weekend's game vs. the Bills in question. It's unclear if this ankle issue is related to the high-ankle sprain Taylor suffered in early August. The rookie caught his only target for 20 yards in the opener, but he registered a strong 84% route rate. That keeps Taylor on the fantasy radar, although he shouldn't be anywhere near your starting lineup this week.
Jets rookie TE Mason Taylor is expected to play a major role on offense this season, according to Rich Cimini of ESPN.
Jets TE Mason Taylor returned to practice on Tuesday and was moving well. The rookie ended up missing just one week with what HC Aaron Glenn labeled a high-ankle sprain. Taylor was off to a strong start before going down and should still be on track to open the season as New York's lead TE. He even has a chance to emerge as the No. 2 target in this passing game, although the fantasy upside is capped by what figures to be a run-heavy, Justin Fields-led offense.
Jets rookie TE Mason Taylor has a high ankle sprain and will miss at least a week, according to HC Aaron Glenn. Taylor is competing for the Jets’ starting job, and this type of injury could sideline him for the rest of training camp and preseason. Despite Glenn downplaying it, Taylor’s Week 1 status could be in doubt.
The Jets selected LSU TE Mason Taylor with the 42nd pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. Taylor set LSU records for career catches (129) and receiving yards (1,308) by a TE. He contributed as a true freshman in 2022, finishing third on the Tigers with 38 catches and 414 yards – both ahead of sophomore WR Brian Thomas Jr. After posting a 36-348-1 line as a sophomore, Taylor set career highs with 55 catches and 546 yards this past year. Both marks ranked third on the team – although Taylor’s 11.1% Dominator Rating ranked just 17th among 21 TEs at the Combine. His 1.23 yards per route ranked 18th. And he scored only six career TDs at LSU (4.7% TD rate). Taylor’s production profile is good-not-great, but there’s still plenty to like here. He turns just 21 in May, earned an 8.89 Relative Athletic Score, and just got strong draft capital. There probably isn’t top-five fantasy upside here, but Taylor comes with a relatively high floor and could be a long-term lower-end TE1 for fantasy squads. The Athletic’s Dane Brugler comped him to Hunter Henry.
Former LSU TE Mason Taylor (and son of NFL Hall of Famer Jason Taylor) didn't work out at the Combine, but he did join the group for the on-field drills. Taylor came away with rave reviews including a stellar "Gauntlet" Drill where he showcased great catch technique along with superb hand-eye coordination. He is likely a top-100 pick in the NFL Draft.
