The Jets have downgraded QB Tyrod Taylor to out for Sunday's game against the Bengals. He won't even travel with the team. That means Justin Fields will start once again, whether HC Aaron Glenn is willing to say so or not.
Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (knee) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Bengals. New York is reportedly hoping to start Taylor if his knee checks out, although HC Aaron Glenn hasn’t revealed his plans all week. Keep an eye on Shark Bites for updates on the situation. Taylor would only be in play in 2-QB and superflex leagues if he starts.
Jets QB Tyrod Taylor is "day to day" with a knee injury, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Taylor was in line to start this weekend's game vs. the Bengals, but his availability for that one is now uncertain. The Jets would presumably turn back to QB Justin Fields if Taylor can't play. (They also have QB Brady Cook on the practice squad.) We'll keep you updated on this situation over the next few days, but Taylor and Fields are only in play in superflex and 2-QB leagues this week, despite the plus matchup.
According to Rich Cimini of ESPN, Jets HC Aaron Glenn is "moving toward" naming Tyrod Taylor the starter for Sunday's game against the Bengals. QB Justin Fields was benched last week against the Panthers. Taylor went 26/36 for 197 yards and 2 TDs in his only start against the Buccaneers in Week 3.
Less than a week after saying he was not benching QB Justin Fields, HC Aaron Glenn pulled the plug on Fields after another horrendous start. Glenn benched Fields at halftime after the Jets accumulated 25 net passing yards and 3 points. Tyrod Taylor relieved Fields and brought some semblance of the forward pass to New York's offense, but Taylor tossed a pair of INTs in relief.
Jets QB Justin Fields was benched at halftime of Sunday's game vs. the Panthers. He produced just three points, passing for 46 yards and running for 22. We'll see how QB Tyrod Taylor fares in the second half of this game and which direction the Jets decide to go at QB going forward. Fields will continue to be very tough to trust in fantasy lineups even the the team goes back to him.
Jets QB Justin Fields has been announced as out for their Week 3 match-up against the Buccaneers. HC Aaron Glenn announced that Fields would not play, as he is working through the concussion protocol. Fields suffered the concussion in the Jets' Week 2 loss to the Buffalo Bills.
Jets HC Aaron Glenn suggested Monday that QB Justin Fields (concussion) will need to be cleared to practice on Wednesday or Thursday to have a chance to start vs. the Buccaneers. “It’s hard for me as a coach once we get to Friday and you haven’t had any reps,” Glenn said. He added that the team needs to "build a plan that's suitable" for QB Tyrod Taylor. We'll see if Fields is able to get on the practice field by Thursday. But, for now, fantasy owners should work under the assumption that it'll be Taylor under center this weekend. Taylor doesn't bring the same rushing ability as Fields, especially at this point of his career. But he might be a slight upgrade as a passer.
Jets QB Justin Fields was carted off the field with an a toe injury in training camp. When he got up to get on the cart, he showed a limp in his right leg/foot. The severity of the injury is currently unknown. Players are regularly carted off during training camp for even cramps, so it may not be as significant as it looks.
Jets QB Aaron Rodgers is "uncertain" for Sunday's game vs. the Bills due to a knee injury, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. We'll look for more details on the injury and track Rodgers' status throughout the week. His absence would put QB Tyrod Taylor under center for New York. He's a capable backup but would be a downgrade for WRs Davante Adams and Garrett Wilson. Rodgers has played well lately, completing 64% of his passes and 8.0 yards per attempt with five TDs over his last three games.
The Athletic's Dianna Russini hears that it's "increasingly likely" that Jets QB Aaron Rodgers will be placed on IR or benched over the next few weeks. Russini adds that "no decisions have been made yet." But it's become clear over the last month that Rodgers has no future with the Jets beyond 2024, so it wouldn't be shocking to see the team pull the plug early.
Giants QB Tyrod Taylor is questionable to return to Sunday's game vs. the Eagles with a thumb injury. He's been replaced by Tommy DeVito. We'll update Taylor's status when we know more.
Update: Taylor returned early in the second quarter.
Giants QB Tyrod Taylor will start this weekend's game vs. the Rams, HC Brian Daboll said. Taylor played reasonably well in relief of QB Tommy DeVito in Philadelphia on Monday, throwing for 133 yards, one TD, and one INT in the second half. He completed 64% of his passes at 7.4 yards per attempt with two TDs and 0 INTs in starts against the Bills and Commanders earlier this season. Taylor is just a low-end QB2 for Week 17, but he should bring more stability to the offense than DeVito.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito was benched at halftime of Monday's game vs. the Eagles. He produced just three points and 55 passing yards in the game's first 30 minutes. After a few surprisingly competent starts, DeVito has bottomed out the past two weeks. QB Tyrod Taylor will play the second half vs. Philadelphia and figures to start the final two games of the season. He should bring a bit more stability to the Giants' offense.
Giants QB Tommy DeVito exited for a concussion check in the second quarter of Sunday's game vs. the Saints. He took a big shot to the back at the end of a scramble and slammed his head against the turf. We'll update DeVito's status when we know more. He's been replaced by QB Tyrod Taylor.
Update: DeVito returned for the start of the second half.
