Deshaun Watson Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson (shoulder) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game vs. the Ravens. He was limited in practice all week with what's been reported as right shoulder soreness. ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets that Watson "barely threw this week," and HC Kevin Stefanski only said Friday that he's "hopeful" Watson will play on Sunday. We'll look for further updates on the situation, but Watson is not a recommended QB1 play this week. Rookie QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson is Cleveland's backup.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson passed for 289 yards and 2 TDs in a Week 3 win over Tennessee. Watson completed 81.8% of his passes on a day that found Cleveland accomplish little on the ground. He leaned on Amari Cooper and Elijah Moore, with the duo combining for a 51.5% target share. Watson hosts the Ravens for Week 4 before entering a Week 5 bye.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson completed 22 of 40 attempts for 235 yards with 1 TD and INT apiece in Week 2’s loss vs. the Steelers. He also ran for 22 yards in the contest, though a pair of costly lost fumbles ate into his fantasy performance. Through two weeks of the season, Watson has been truly underwhelming. Fantasy managers hoping he would make a return to pre-suspension form are left wondering if that’s going to happen. Is it still possible? Absolutely, but the early returns are giving us little reason to be overly optimistic. We’ll see if he can do any better in Week 3 vs. the Titans.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson completed 16 passes on 29 attempts for 154 passing yards with one TD and INT apiece. He also added 45 rushing yards and a TD on the ground on 5 carries. Aside from a bone-headed third-quarter INT to Bengals S Dax Hill, Watson played reasonably well in the rainy Cleveland weather. We’re still too early in the season to say that Watson is officially “back to form,” though he’ll have a solid opportunity to further prove himself next week against the Steelers on Monday night primetime. The Pittsburgh defense allowed the highest total offensive yards (391) of any team in the early slate of Week 1 vs. the 49ers.

Browns GM Andrew Berry is happy with the progress QB Deshaun Watson has made on and off the field this offseason. "He's in a really good place," Berry said. "I think this is going to be a big year for him professionally and personally. We think he's in great shape physically. He's been really good on the field and I love what he's done off the field. So we're excited about him." Watson struggled in his return late last year. But with a full offseason in HC Kevin Stefanski's offense, he's primed for a big bounce back. Watson has big profit potential at his current late-7th-round ADP.

Zac Jackson of The Athletic believes Browns QB Deshaun Watson will be “much better” in 2023. We’re in strong agreement there. Watson struggled across six late-season games last year, tallying 6.5 yards per attempt and a 58.2% completion rate. But let’s recognize that he played his first regular season games since the 2020 season. And we’re ultimately talking about a small sample of 170 attempts. Cleveland added WRs Elijah Moore and Cedric Tillman to a receiving corps already featuring Amari Cooper, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and David Njoku. Watson sits inside the top 10 of our QB rankings.

The Jets are trading WR Elijah Moore and a third-round pick to the Browns for a second-rounder. The move confirms what the Jets' usage told us last year: They've already fallen out of love with the 2021 early-second-round pick. We loved Moore as a prospect, and he supplied a promising rookie-year stretch when healthy. He joins a Cleveland team with Amari Cooper in place as the top WR. But Moore could push Donovan Peoples-Jones for the No. 2 spot. And the trio makes a high-upside corps for QB Deshaun Watson. The Jets, meanwhile, might now be more incentivized to keep WR Corey Davis. We'll see if the team adds any notable wideouts in the draft, as well as how many more ex-teammates Aaron Rodgers demands the Jets acquire. The landing spot doesn't immediately boost Moore's fantasy outlook. But getting to a team that wants him more can only help his upside.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson concluded Sunday's contest vs. the Commanders with 9 completions on 18 attempts for 169 yards and 3 TDs with another 31 yards rushing on top. Watson's connection with WR Amari Cooper (3 receptions, 105 yards, 2 TDs) accounted for much of his production after struggling in the 1st half. Sunday's performance marks the best fantasy output (21.86 points) from Watson in 2022 since returning from suspension in Week 13. He'll have an opportunity to capitalize on this outing in Week 18 vs. the Steelers next Sunday.

Browns QB Deshaun Watson threw for just 135 yards, with no TDs and 1 INT in Saturday's loss to the Saints. He did run for a 12-yard TD among 3 carries for 24 yards. We wouldn't plan to use Watson in Week 17 for his matchup with Washington.

The forecast for today's Saints-Browns game calls for temperatures in the single digits with sustained winds of 20-25 mph and gusts of 40+. The wind chill is well below zero. They're brutal conditions that will significantly limit the passing and kicking games. Check out our projections for all the Saints and Browns players.
