Curtis Samuel out for Week 9

        1:02pm UTC 11/3/23

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (toe) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Patriots. He was replaced last week by WR Jamison Crowder, who caught all seven of his targets for 95 yards and a score. We wouldn’t go chasing that production. Samuel’s absence should mean a few extra targets to divvy between WR Terry McLaurin, WR Jahan Dotson, and TE Logan Thomas.

        Curtis Samuel out Wednesday

        8:29pm UTC 11/1/23

Commanders WR Curtis Samuel (toe) did not practice on Wednesday. He didn't return to last week's game after hurting his toe and is in real danger of missing Sunday's game vs. the Patriots. Jamison Crowder replaced Samuel as Washington's primary slot receiver last week but would be a desperation fantasy play. Samuel's absence would likely mean more targets for WRs Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson.

        Giants dumping Jamison Crowder

        8:47am UTC 8/29/23

The Giants are releasing WR Jamison Crowder, according to NFL Network. It's not surprising given the glut of slot receivers on that roster -- especially with Wan'Dale Robinson coming off the PUP list. We'll see who remains at WR after the final cuts.

The Giants have activated WRs Sterling Shepard and Jamison Crowder from the Non-Football Injury List. They’re practicing today, but both veterans remain off the redraft radar.

Campbell a "big part" of offense?

        10:56am UTC 6/15/23

ESPN's Jordan Raanan has come away from minicamp believing WR Parris Campbell will be a "big part" of the offense this season. "See him as top producer out of the new WRs this season," Ranaan tweeted. "At one point Tuesday. He caught three straight passes. Working mostly out of slot." Campbell is one of a plethora of primary slot receivers on the Giants roster, along with Wan'Dale Robinson, Sterling Shepard, and Jamison Crowder. It sounds like Campbell is the early favorite to win that job, but he's still not an exciting fantasy pick in what figures to be a run-leaning offense featuring RB Saquon Barkley and TE Darren Waller.

        Giants add ANOTHER slot receiver

        9:42pm UTC 3/23/23

The Giants are signing WR Jamison Crowder to a 1-year deal, according to CBS Sports' Josina Anderson. The G-Men continue to stockpile slot receivers, with Crowder joining Parris Campbell, Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard as options on the inside. We'll see about the details of Crowder's contract, but he's probably not even a lock to make the final roster. Turning 30 in June, Crowder caught 6 balls in 4 games for the Bills last year, missing the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

        8:41pm UTC 10/8/22

Bills WR Jamison Crowder (ankle) has been placed on IR. He'll likely miss the rest of the season with his broken left ankle and can be dropped from fantasy rosters.

        McKenzie questionable for Week 5

        2:34pm UTC 10/7/22

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Steelers. He got in limited practices on Thursday and Friday but still has work to do to clear protocol. We should get another update on McKenzie by Sunday morning. With WR Jamison Crowder and Jake Kumerow out with their ankle injuries, McKenzie's absence would leave rookie Khalil Shakir as Buffalo's #3 WR.

        Crowder likely done for season

        11:15am UTC 10/3/22

Bills WR Jamison Crowder broke his left ankle in Sunday's win over the Ravens, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Doctors are still determining the extent of other damage to the ankle, but Crowder is almost certainly done for the year. That should mean more control over the slot WR position for Isaiah McKenzie, who left Sunday's game with a concussion. If McKenzie can't go in Week 5, rookie Khalil Shakir might be running as a top 3 WR against Pittsburgh.

        McKenzie finds end zone

        2:15pm UTC 9/26/22

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie finished Week 3 with 7 catches for 76 yards and 1 score. Josh Allen chucked it 63 times, which helps explain the big day. McKenzie’s target share amounted to just 14.2%. He scored near the goal line on a crossing route that found him wide open vs. the blitz. All told, McKenzie played 47 snaps — only 2 more than Jamison Crowder. Crowder mustered only 1 catch on 3 targets.

Davis not expected to play vs. Titans

        5:19pm UTC 9/19/22

Bills WR Gabriel Davis (ankle) is not expected to play vs. the Titans tonight, "barring a surprise," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. "Team has held out hope but playing was considered an uphill battle since Saturday's injury," Fowler tweets. We'll see if Davis can make it back for this coming Sunday's game vs. the Dolphins. His absence figures to mean WR Khalil Shakir's debut, although the rookie is really only an option in DFS. Stefon Diggs, Isaiah McKenzie, Jamison and Dawson Knox are candidates for extra targets with Davis out.

McKenzie and Crowder work in committee Week 1

        8:13am UTC 9/9/22

Bills WRs Isaiah McKenzie and Jamison Crowder split slot duties in Thursday night's opener vs. the Rams. McKenzie ran a route on 55% of pass plays vs. Crowder's 32%, but Crowder out-targeted McKenzie 4 to 3. We'll continue to monitor this situation, but neither guy will be a reliable Week 2 fantasy play.

        McKenzie hurt

        2:03pm UTC 9/1/22

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie suffered an undisclosed injury on Saturday and hasn't practiced since, according to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg. GM Brandon Beane only said, "we'll see" when asked about McKenzie's availability for the Thursday night season opener vs. the Rams. We'll keep an eye on this and get Buffalo's first official injury report on Monday. Jamison Crowder would step in as the Bills' slot receiver if McKenzie can't go.

        Crowder runs with backups

        8:40am UTC 8/14/22

The Bills gave another indication Saturday that WR Isaiah McKenzie leads the competition for the starting slot job. McKenzie didn't play in the preseason opener against the Colts. Jamison Crowder, on the other hand, opened the game running with the 2nd team. We've been treating McKenzie as the leader here pretty much since training camp opened.

        McKenzie working ahead of Crowder

        1:05pm UTC 8/4/22

Bills WR Isaiah McKenzie got off to a strong start of training camp. But it came with WR Jamison Crowder sidelined. Crowder is back now, though, and McKenzie has continued to work with QB Josh Allen and the 1st-team offense, according to The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia. "Perhaps it’s a sign of where the competition stands or that they’re letting Crowder crawl before he walks in coming back from an injury," Buscaglia adds. "But it’s also a continuation of what we’ve seen previously when both players were healthy, which shows how great of a chance McKenzie has to win the job." This battle isn't over yet, but McKenzie continues to look like the favorite to be Buffalo's Week 1 starting slot receiver.

        Crowder back at practice

        9:50am UTC 8/1/22

Bills HC Sean McDermott said WR Jamison Crowder will practice "in some capacity" on Monday. He missed the 1st week of camp with what the team called "general soreness." WR Isaiah McKenzie balled out in Crowder's absence and now looks like the favorite for slot duties. We'll see if Crowder can turn the tables. There are still over 5 weeks until Buffalo's opener.
