Chargers RB Kimani Vidal rushed 12 times for 30 yards in Sunday's matchup with Tennessee. Vidal topped No. 2 RB Jaret Patterson in snap share – 72% to 28% – but the carry distribution was much tighter. Vidal led by only 3 attempts in a 7-point road win.

Chargers RB Hassan Haskins (hamstring) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Titans. RB Kimani Vidal will continue to dominate touches in Los Angeles’ backfield, with Jaret Patterson the No. 2 RB. Vidal is a borderline RB1 in this prime spot against Tennessee’s 30th-ranked RB defense.

Chargers RB Kimani Vidal went over 100 rushing yards in Week 7 for the second time in his last three games. The first came against a Dolphins run defense that gets smoked every week. Vidal's 117-yard outing vs. the Vikings on Thursday night was more impressive. He was largely bottled up in the first half, mustering just 24 yards on 11 carries -- although one of those went for a three-yard score. Vidal got rolling in the second half, though, with the Chargers nursing a big lead and Minnesota's defense not looking particularly interested in tackling. Vidal carried another 12 times for 93 yards over the final 30 minutes, including four runs of 10+ yards.

We passed along when The Athletic's Daniel Popper had Chargers rookie RB Kimani Vidal in danger of missing the regular-season roster. Well, Popper has adjusted his projection now, moving him ahead of Isaiah Spiller and onto the final roster. The change comes after Vidal ran for 49 yards on 11 carries in his first preseason action (the team's second exhibition).

The Athletic's Daniel Popper left Chargers RB Kimani Vidal off his latest 53-man roster projection. Popper has RBs Gus Edwards, J.K. Dobbins, Jaret Patterson, and Isaiah Spiller making the team over Vidal, the sixth-round rookie.

The Athletic's Daniel Popper says RB Jaret Patterson "got a notable amount of work with the first team" in Thursday's full-team drills. Rookie RB Kimani Vidal, meanwhile, rotated with Isaiah Spiller and Elijah Dotson with the second team. Patterson spent most of last season on the Chargers' practice squad but finished the year back on the Washington practice squad. He then signed a futures contract with the Chargers this offseason.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson (knee) has been ruled out for Week 18 vs. the Cowboys. RBs Jonathan Williams and Jaret Patterson figure to carry the workload on Sunday. The Cowboys' defense rank as the 4th-toughest matchup for opposing RBs in adjusted fantasy points allowed this season. It would've been tough to trust Robinson or Antonio Gibson, who underwent foot surgery on Thursday, in this game for fantasy purposes. We feel even more skittish about the backups. Neither Williams nor Patterson is anything more than speculative RB3/flex consideration.

Commanders RB Brian Robinson (knee) didn't practice on Thursday. It's not looking good for the rookie at this point, but Friday will give him a chance to participate in a limited fashion perhaps. RB Antonio Gibson was placed on IR already, and the team elevated RB Jaret Patterson from the practice squad in a corresponding move. This messy situation doesn't bode well for any fantasy manager trying to decipher this situation for Week 18 vs. the Cowboys. Check in tomorrow once we have a more concrete idea of what to expect from the Commanders' backfield.

The Commanders have elevated RB Jaret Patterson from the practice squad, ahead of Sunday's finale against the Cowboys. It's not a surprising move, given that RB Antonio Gibson will be out once again. He landed on IR Thursday after missing last week with knee and foot injuries. RB Brian Robinson Jr. (knee) joined Gibson in missing Wednesday's practice. Don't be surprised if Robinson sits out the finale as well. Michael Phillips of the Richmond Times-Dispatch says Patterson "seems likely to get a large share of work on Sunday." Washington also has RB Jonathan Williams on the active roster. Beware of using any Commanders offensive players in your Week 18 lineup.

Commanders RB Jaret Patterson has been elevated from the practice squad for Sunday's game vs. the Browns. He'll join Brian Robinson and Jonathan Williams in the Antonio Gibson-less backfield. Robinson should dominate the ball-carrying work but is likely to lose passing-down snaps to Williams and potentially Patterson.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson was not activated from the COVID list on Saturday and will miss Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Washington promoted RB Wendell Smallwood from the practice squad. He'll join Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams in the backfield.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson has been placed on the COVID list. He's a long shot to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Gibson's absence will leave Washington with RBs Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams on the active roster. RB Wendell Smallwood will likely be elevated from the practice squad. We'd expect Patterson and Williams to split most of the rushing work, with Smallwood potentially playing on passing downs. In other words, it's a situation to avoid in Week 17 fantasy lineups.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport hears that there's "some optimism" Washington RB Antonio Gibson (toe) will be able to play vs. the Cowboys tonight. Gibson remains a game-time decision, Rapoport adds. The late kickoff makes this a tough situation for fantasy owners. We won't get Washington's inactives until 7 pm ET. If you're hoping to use Gibson, add RB Jaret Patterson as the fall-back option if Gibson ends up inactive.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (toe) is listed as questionable for Sunday night’s game vs. the Cowboys. He didn’t practice all week and seems to be in real danger of missing this one. We’ll look for an update on his status on Sunday morning. If Gibson can’t play against Dallas, Washington would be down to RBs Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams.

Washington RB Antonio Gibson (toe) missed his 2nd straight practice on Thursday. He played through this injury on Tuesday night's loss to the Eagles but appears to be in danger of missing this Sunday night's game vs. the Cowboys. With RB J.D. McKissic on IR, Gibson's absence would leave Washington with RBs Jaret Patterson and Jonathan Williams.

Washington has placed RB J.D. McKissic on IR for the neck injury that stemmed from the same hit that gave him a concussion. With 4 games left in the season -- including tonight's visit to Philadelphia -- McKissic is likely done for the year. That elevates Jaret Patterson to the #2 spot on the depth chart behind Antonio Gibson, who should see workhorse touches the rest of the way. Washington also elevated QB Kyle Shurmur from the practice squad ahead of the Eagles game. He'll back up Garrett Gilbert.

Washington RB J.D. McKissic (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game vs. the Raiders. That leaves only Jaret Patterson and Wendell Smallwood behind Antonio Gibson in the backfield. Gibson should continue to dominate carries and pick up extra work in the passing game with McKissic out. HC Ron Rivera suggested Friday that Smallwood would take over some of McKissic's role.
