Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley performed well in Sunday's victory over the Commanders, logging 87 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries in addition to 5 receptions and 33 yards in the receiving game. The talented back rose to the occasion for fantasy managers in the playoffs. Barkley will once again be a top-10 RB option in Week 16 against the Vikings. The Vikings' D rank as a neutral matchup and with Barkley's consistent volume of touches, he should be in line for another quality outing next week.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley said Thursday that he feels "a lot better" now than he did this time last week and doesn't expect to be limited vs. the Commanders on Sunday night. Barkley is off this week's injury report after being listed as questionable with that neck issue last week. The matchup is tough this week, but Barkley's projected volume should land him in most fantasy lineups. He posted an 18-63-1 rushing line and 5-18 receiving against Washington back in Week 13.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley isn't listed on the Week 15 injury report. He was limited last week and listed as questionable with a sore neck -- and then set season lows with a 31% snap rate and 11 touches in the loss to the Eagles. Barkley had slowed down even before the neck injury and gets a tough Washington defense on Sunday night. But we can at least project him to get back to a full workload.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley avoided a setback with his neck injury in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. "Came out of the game pretty well [physically]," Barkley said afterward. He also revealed that the injury is a stinger and happened in practice last week. Barkley was clearly limited in the Philly game, finishing with just 9 carries and 2 targets on a season-low 31% snap rate. HC Brian Daboll said Monday that the team is "hopeful" Barkley will be in better shape this week. We'll keep a close eye on his practice participation leading up to Sunday's huge game vs. the Commanders.
The Giants gave RB Saquon Barkley just 9 carries and 2 targets in Sunday's loss to the Eagles. He trailed both RB Gary Brightwell and RB Matt Breida by 2 snaps, in a game Barkley entered as a game-time decision because of a neck issue. We'll see about Barkley's status heading into a Week 15 visit to Washington.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (neck) is active for today’s game vs. the Eagles. He was listed as questionable and reportedly a game-time decision, but we haven’t heard anything about his workload being limited today. Barkley certainly carries elevated risk in Week 14 fantasy lineups, but you’d need to be loaded at RB to bench him. See where Barkley sits in the Week 14 RB Rankings.
Giants HC Brian Daboll told NFL Network's Mike Garofolo that RB Saquon Barkley (neck) will play against the Eagles today. The neck issue adds risk to Barkley's Week 14 fantasy profile, but we've heard nothing to suggest that it'll impact his workload today.
ESPN's Adam Schefter hears that RB Saquon Barkley (neck) is "legit 50/50" to play vs. the Eagles today. The Giants "want to see how he feels Sunday in pre-game warmups before deciding whether he will play." We'll get New York's inactives around 11:30 am ET. If Barkley sits, the Giants will be down to RBs Matt Breida and Gary Brightwell.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that Giants RB Saquon Barkley is "legitimately 50-50" to be active for Sunday's game against the Eagles. Officially questionable, Barkley was limited in practice Thursday and Friday and will carry some risk even if active. We'll certainly be tracking his status Sunday morning. RB-needy teams could add Matt Breida ahead of game time, though he wouldn't be a strong fantasy football option even if Barkley is inactive.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley (neck) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Eagles. He was added to the injury report on Thursday and then limited again in Friday’s practice. HC Brian Daboll said Friday that Barkley’s neck is “a little sore” and said, “I hope so” when asked whether Barkley will play this weekend. ESPN’s Jordan Raanan, for what it’s worth, said that he’d be surprised if Barkley didn’t play. We’ll look for further updates on the situation and will get the Giants’ inactives around 11:30 am on Sunday. RB Matt Breida would be the best bet for carries in New York if Barkley doesn’t play.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley was added to the injury report and limited in Thursday's practice with a neck issue. We don't have any other details at this point. We'll see what Barkley does in Friday's practice and how he's listed on the final injury report for Sunday's game vs. the Eagles. Matt Breida would likely be New York's lead back if Barkley misses this one.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley carried 18 times for 63 yards and a TD in Sunday's tie with the Commanders. It was a predictably sluggish performance (3.5 per rush) against 1 of the league's toughest run defenses. Barkley's carry total beat each of his previous 2 games, at least. He also caught 5 passes (for 18 yards), his most since Week 1. Week 14 brings the season's 1st matchup with the Eagles.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley totaled just 52 yards in Thursday's loss to the Cowboys. He managed 39 yards on 11 carries (3.5 per rush) and tallied merely 13 yards on 4 receptions Barkley's 6 targets tied 2 others for the team lead. Gary Brightwell chimed in with 5-31 rushing and 2 catches (on 2 targets) for 18 yards. RB Matt Breida went 2-6 rushing and caught his lone target for 9 yards.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley managed just 22 yards on his 15 carries in Sunday's loss to the Lions. He added only 13 more on 2 receptions among 5 targets. It was even more disappointing for such a performance to come against a Lions defense ranked 27th in Football Outsiders' rushing DVOA. The rest of Barkley's season, of course, means we need to dismiss this one and continue playing the fantasy stud. Week 12 holds a Dallas defense that allowed him 126 total yards in their Week 3 meeting.
Giants RB Saquon Barkley racked up 35 carries in Sunday's win over the Texans, more than doubling the team's pass attempts (17). He tallied 152 yards and a TD on the ground, adding 1 catch for 8 yards. It marked the 4th straight game of 20+ rushes for Barkley and his 2nd game this season with more than 30 attempts. Let's hope -- for the sake of his health -- that the Giants don't continue to work Barkley quite so hard. A Week 11 home date with a soft Lions defense should find him busy once again, though.
The Seahawks limited RB Saquon Barkley to just 62 total yards on 23 touches Sunday. He averaged a meager 2.7 yards across 20 carries and tallied a meager 9 yards on 3 receptions (5 targets). Barkley saved his fantasy day with a 1-yard TD plunge in the 2nd quarter. The Seattle defense has been terrific in 3 straight outings, against both the run and pass. Barkley and the Giants get a Week 9 bye.
Giants TE Daniel Bellinger will undergo surgery this week to repair a fractured eye socket and septum, according to the New York Post's Paul Schwartz. It's not believed to be a season-ending injury, per Schwartz, but expect Bellinger to miss multiple games. The rookie had emerged as a significant part of New York's passing game, drawing 16 targets over his last 4 healthy games. His absence will leave New York with TEs Chris Myarick and Tanner Hudson -- and free up a few more targets for RB Saquon Barkley and WR Wan'Dale Robinson.
