Tyjae Spears Fantasy Football News | Shark Bites

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend's game vs. the Texans. He put in limited practices on Wednesday and Thursday before sitting out on Friday. HC Brian Callahan labeled him a game-time decision. Pollard is pushing to play to pick up the 83 more rushing yards he needs to earn a $250,000 incentive. We'll get Tennessee's inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday. RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) has been ruled out, so the Titans will be down to RBs Julius Chestnut and Joshua Kelley if Pollard can't play.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. That should have him on track to return for this weekend's game vs. the Texans. Pollard needs 83 more rushing yards to earn a $250,000 incentive. RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday and isn't expected to play on Sunday.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears sustained a concussion in the third quarter of Sunday’s game vs. the Jaguars – his second concussion of the season. HC Brian Callahan said afterward that Spears will not play in Week 18. We’ll see if RB Tony Pollard makes it back for that one. If not, Julius Chestnut would likely operate as Tennessee’s lead back vs. the Texans.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears left in the third quarter of Week 17 to get checked for a concussion. Without Spears (and Tony Pollard), the Titans are down to RBs Julius Chestnut and Josh Kelley.

Titans RB Tony Pollard is officially out with the flu and is not traveling with the team to Jacksonville for Sunday’s game. This places Tyjae Spears as the lead back for the gam

Tyjae Spears beat Tony Pollard in carries, receptions, total yards, and fantasy scoring in Sunday's loss to the Colts. The biggest differentiator was Spears claiming both of the team's rushing scores, which came late in the third quarter and late in the fourth.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Colts today. Schefter doesn't make any mention of Pollard being limited, but we'd be surprised if he handled his usual workload after missing practice all week. We're projecting RB Tyjae Spears to handle most of the passing-down snaps, while also cutting into Pollard's early-down work. See where both guys sit in the Week 16 RB Rankings.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) did not practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game vs. the Colts. He’s been playing through injuries for much of the season, but this is seemingly the worst shape he’s been in. Pollard will be a risky fantasy play if he ends up active. If not, RB Tyjae Spears figures to handle most of the backfield work and would be a viable fantasy start.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) did not practice on Wednesday. He appeared to aggravate this ankle injury early in last week's game but was able to return. We're tentatively expecting him to play vs. the Colts this weekend but will continue to monitor his status. RB Tyjae Spears should be rostered in virtually all fantasy leagues in case Pollard ends up missing one of these last few games.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears tallied a team-high 87 receiving yards and a TD on 6 receptions in Sunday's loss to the Bengals. He added 5 rushing yards on 4 carries.

Titans RB Tony Pollard is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Bengals with an ankle injury. This is presumably an aggravation of the issue that had him questionable coming in. We'll update Pollard's status when we know more. His absence leaves Tyjae Spears as Tennessee's lead back.

Update: Pollard returned with about five minutes left in the first half.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Bengals. He only got in a limited practice on Friday. Pollard has been playing through injuries for much of the season, and we’re tentatively expecting him to play against Cincinnati. But the ankle issue adds risk to his fantasy profile. If Pollard ends up sitting, RB Tyjae Spears would control backfield work and be a viable fantasy start.

Titans RB Tony Pollard (ankle) remained sidelined for Thursday's practice. We still don't have any information on this ankle issue. Pollard finished out last week's game, so we're still expecting him to play vs. the Bengals this weekend. But check back tomorrow for another update on his status. RB Tyjae Spears would become a viable Week 15 fantasy start if Pollard ends up sitting.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Commanders. He’s topped 10 touches in just one of seven games this season and is no better than a low-end RB3 or Flex in PPR leagues. But Spears’ return does put a dent in RB Tony Pollard’s volume projection.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) is listed as questionable for this weekend’s game vs. the Commanders. He was a full participant in Thursday and Friday’s practices, though, so he’s on track to be cleared for this one. Spears is no better than a low-end RB3 in PPR leagues, but his return puts a dent in RB Tony Pollard’s projected volume.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) got in a limited practice on Wednesday. We're tentatively expecting him back for this weekend's game vs. the Commanders but will continue to track his progress through the protocol. Spears would be a desperation RB3 or Flex play in fantasy lineups, but his return would downgrade Tony Pollard to low-end RB2 status.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) is out for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans. That leaves the backfield to RB Tony Pollard, who has averaged 21.3 carries and 4.3 targets in three games without Spears earlier this season. Despite the difficult matchup, Pollard is a strong RB2 play this week.

Titans RB Tyjae Spears (concussion) did not practice on Wednesday. He's a long shot to be cleared in time for Sunday's game vs. the Texans. His absence would leave RB Tony Pollard in a workhorse role -- albeit in a tough matchup against the league's No. 4 RB defense.
