Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Chargers WR DeAndre Carter (illness) is active for today’s game vs. the Falcons. He was added to the injury report on Friday and listed as questionable, but Carter should be ready to operate as Los Angeles’ #2 WR today with Mike Williams and Keenan Allen out.

11:32am EST 11/6/22

Lions TE Brock Wright (concussion) is active for today’s game vs. the Packers. He figures to split TE duties with James Mitchell after this week’s T.J. Hockenson trade.

Lions WR Josh Reynolds (back) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Packers. It’ll be WRs Kalif Raymond and Tom Kennedy behind Amon-Ra St. Brown.

11:31am EST 11/6/22

Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) is active for today’s game vs. the Packers. He got in just limited practices on Thursday and Friday this week and is expected to play a limited role today.

Raiders TE Darren Waller (hamstring) is inactive for today’s game vs. the Jaguars. That again leaves lead TE duties to Foster Moreau, who’s posted 3-28-0 and 6-31-0 lines with Waller out the past 2 weeks.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport says there's "not a lot of optimism" that Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) will be able to play vs. the Chiefs tonight. That'd mean a 2nd straight start for rookie QB Malik Willis, who reportedly took most of the reps in practice this week. Willis threw just 10 passes in a comfortable win over the Texans last week. Tennessee will certainly hope to go run-heavy again tonight -- but there's a good chance that Willis is forced to throw it a bunch more with the Chiefs 12.5-point favorites. That doesn't figure to go well for Willis based on what we saw last week.

Bills LB Matt Milano (oblique) is not expected to play today against the Jets, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That would leave rookie Terrel Bernard starting in his place. Milano's absence is good news for Jets RB Michael Carter and TE Tyler Conklin. He is Buffalo's best LB, especially in coverage. We have removed Milano from our Week 9 IDP rankings.

The Panthers are not activating S Jeremy Chinn (hamstring) ahead of today's game at Cincinnati. Interim HC Steve Wilks said they hope to get him back onto the field ahead of Thursday night's game against the Falcons. Myles Hartsfield should be in line for another start and has climbed our Week 9 IDP rankings.

Vikings TE T.J. Hockenson is expected to be a "key part" of the offense against the Commanders today, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Hockenson, of course, was just traded to Minnesota on Tuesday. He "worked extra hours to get up to speed on the game plan," per Fowler. "Team plans to get him in there as much as it can, given the time constraints of the week." We'd still be surprised if Hockenson played a full slate of snaps today. But it's certainly possible that he's targeted at a high rate when he's on the field. Consider him a risk/reward Week 9 fantasy play.

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) remains a game-time decision for tonight's contest with the Chiefs, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Tannehill is "doing everything he can to play," per Rapoport, "but there is a real chance it's rookie Malik Willis for the second straight week if Tannehill isn't 100%." With the late kickoff, you should avoid Titans QBs and this passing game in general.

Rams RB Cam Akers will play vs. the Bucs today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "How much he plays will be predicated on the flow of the game," Schefter adds. RB Kyren Williams was not activated for this one, so Akers, Darrell Henderson, Ronnie Rivers and Malcolm Brown are Los Angeles' available RBs. We'll see who's active around 3 pm ET, but you should try to avoid this backfield in fantasy lineups.

Cardinals RB James Conner (ribs) is expected to play vs. the Seahawks later today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. "Arizona does want to test him in pre-game warmups," Schefter adds. We won't get the Cardinals' inactives until a little after 2:30 pm ET, so you should have a late-game backup plan in place if you're hoping to use Conner. Assuming he plays, we're projecting him to step back in as Arizona's lead back. But RB Eno Benjamin could play a bigger role behind Conner than he did early in the season.

ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Raiders TE Darren Waller (hamstring) "unlikely" to play vs. the Jaguars today. "Still is not fully healthy," Schefter adds. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is a bit more optimistic, labeling Waller a game-time decision. "He's as close as he's been," Rapoport tweeted. "The worry is that he aggravates it, so they'll be cautious. But he's got a chance." We'll get Vegas' inactives around 11:30 am ET. But, for now, we're removing Waller from the TE Rankings and moving TE Foster Moreau up.

ESPN's Adam Schefter calls Patriots RB Damien Harris "unlikely" to play vs. the Colts today due to his illness. It's a bit of a surprise after Harris was able to return to a limited practice on Friday -- but Schefter almost never misses on these early-Sunday reports. Harris' absence would put RB Rhamondre Stevenson back in a workhorse role. He racked up 19 carries and 5 targets when Harris missed Week 6.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Lions RB D'Andre Swift (ankle, shoulder) is expected to play vs. the Packers today. He'll be "in a limited role like last week," Schefter adds. "Lions are trying to manage Swift’s snaps to get the most out of him." Swift actually played 55% of Detroit's offensive snaps last week but finished with just 5 carries and 5 targets. He carries a wide range of outcomes in Week 9 fantasy lineups. See where Swift sits in the RB Rankings.

Titans QB Ryan Tannehill (ankle) traveled with the team to Kansas City, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. That keeps Tannehill in play to start Sunday night's game vs. the Chiefs. HC Mike Vrabel labeled Tannehill a game-time decision, but we'll look for an update on his status on Sunday morning.

Saints TE Adam Trautman (ankle) put in a full practice on Saturday and isn't listed on the final injury report. He'll be back for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens after missing the previous 2 weeks. Trautman isn't a fantasy option but does put a slight dent in TE Juwan Johnson's outlook.

Saints WR Jarvis Landry (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Ravens. He was limited in practice all week. Landry can't be trusted in Week 9 fantasy lineups with the late kickoff.

Ravens WR Demarcus Robinson (groin) is listed as questionable for Monday night's game vs. the Saints. He was added to the injury report on Friday and did not practice on Saturday, so he seems truly iffy for this one. Robinson tallied season highs with 8 targets, 6 catches and 64 yards last week but wasn't a bankable Week 9 fantasy play even before this injury. His absence would leave the Ravens with WRs Devin Duvernay, James Proche, Tylan Wallace and DeSean Jackson, who's expected to make his debut in this one.

Ravens RB Gus Edwards (hamstring) did not practice all week and is listed as doubtful for Monday night's game vs. the Rams. His absence leaves Baltimore's backfield to Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. Drake is the best bet to lead the way in touches.
