Fantasy Football News & Latest NFL Updates

Shark Bites are the latest fantasy football news & NFL updates. Draft Sharks has been in business since 1999. And when we started, redraft was the dominant form of fantasy football. Check out what we've learned about this most basic form of fantasy football along the way.

Bengals RB Joe Mixon (ankle) is expected to play vs. the Lions today, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Mixon got in just 2 limited practices this week and is listed as questionable. But HC Zac Taylor said Friday that Mixon is ready for a full workload. Consider him a risk/reward RB1 in Week 6 fantasy lineups.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Washington RB Antonio Gibson (shin) is expected to play vs. the Chiefs today. Gibson remained limited in practice this week and is listed as questionable with that stress fracture in his shin. It's certainly a concern going forward -- but Gibson is an upside fantasy starter in today's likely shootout.

Washington WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) is expected to play vs. the Chiefs today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. McLaurin was added to the injury report and sidelined on Friday with a hamstring. But everything we've heard since has been positive on his status. We'll continue to look for updates on the situation throughout the morning and will get McLaurin's game status around 11:30 am ET. But, as of now, he can be penciled into fantasy lineups.

Chiefs WR Tyreek Hill (quad) is expected to play vs. Washington today, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. Hill only got in a limited practice on Friday, but HC Andy Reid said he looked good then. We never heard any concern about Hill's status throughout the week. He remains a must-start in season-long fantasy leagues -- and we wouldn't be afraid to use Hill in DFS tournaments.

ESPN's Adam Schefter confirms that Lions TE T.J. Hockenson (knee) is expected to play vs. the Bengals today. Hockenson played through this injury last week, registering his usual 80+% snap rate. He, of course, finished with just 2 catches on 3 targets for 22 yards.

Chargers WR Mike Williams (knee) is expected to play vs. the Ravens on Sunday, "barring a pregame setback," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports. We'll look for further updates on Williams' status tomorrow morning. He'll obviously carry elevated risk in fantasy lineups after missing all 3 practices this week. But it'd also be difficult to bench Williams -- unless we hear that he'll be limited -- considering how awesome he's been through 5 weeks.

Titans WR Julio Jones (hamstring) put in a full week of practice and isn't listed on the final report. That suggests Jones should be ready to step back into a full-time role against the Bills on Monday night. There's added risk in his 1st game back off a 2-week absence, though. And the matchup is tough vs. Buffalo's 2nd-ranked WR defense.

The Broncos designated WR Jerry Jeudy (ankle) to return from IR. He obviously won't play vs. the Raiders tomorrow but is eligible to practice this coming week. We'll see if Jeudy can get ready for next Thursday night's game vs. the Browns. A Week 8 return is probably more realistic. Grab Jeudy now if he was dropped in your league.

The Broncos promoted WR John Brown to the active roster. It looks like he'll play vs. the Raiders on Sunday after joining the team on Tuesday. We'd be surprised if Brown was ready for a significant role. He remains off the fantasy radar for now.

ESPN's John Keim hears that Washington WR Terry McLaurin (hamstring) was "feeling good" on Saturday. "A good sign for tomorrow," Keim adds. It seems like Washington was truly being extra cautious by holding McLaurin out of Friday's practice. He can be penciled into fantasy lineups for Sunday's pristine matchup vs. the Chiefs. We'll continue to keep you updated on his status.

Browns WR Jarvis Landry (knee) was not elevated to the active roster on Saturday and won't play against the Cardinals tomorrow. Landry got back on the practice field this week and seems likely to return for Week 7's game vs. the Broncos. Rashard Higgins and Donovan Peoples-Jones will continue to serve as Cleveland's #2 and #3 WRs tomorrow.

Bills LB Matt Milano finished the week with a full practice Saturday and carries no game status into Monday night against the Titans. That's noteworthy after he missed the Week 5 contest in Kansas City with a hamstring injury. Assuming Milano gets back to full playing time, he carries plenty of upside against a Titans offense that has supplied the 2nd most fantasy points to LBs so far.

The Colts on Saturday placed K Rodrigo Blankenship on IR for his hip injury. That means Blankenship will miss at least the next 3 games. Indy also elevated K Michael Badgley from the practice squad. He'll handle kicking duties Sunday against the Texans.

The Colts have activated WR T.Y. Hilton (neck) from IR. He had surgery for a disc issue just before the season and missed the first 5 games. We'd bet on Hilton working back to the #2 spot among Indianapolis wideouts but not pushing Michael Pittman aside.

The Panthers have placed RB Christian McCaffrey on IR. He had already been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings. This move means he'll miss at least 2 more beyond that with the hamstring injury that knocked him out of the Week 3 win at Houston. Rookie Chuba Hubbard should be the lead back this week against Minnesota and for upside matchups at the Giants and Falcons the next 2 weeks. We'll see whether McCaffrey is ready to return for the Week 9 game against New England.

Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa (ribs) has been activated from IR and remains on track to start Sunday morning's game vs. the Jaguars in London, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports. That's a plus matchup -- but Tagovailoa will be without WRs Will Fuller (finger) and DeVante Parker (hamstring, shoulder).

Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury tested positive for COVID and will miss Sunday's game vs. the Browns. QB coach Cam Turner is also out after testing positive. Kingsbury is an offensive-minded coach and Arizona's play caller, so it's notable news for QB Kyler Murray and the rest of this offense. We're not adjusting our projections for the Cardinals offense, but the situation adds downside risk.

Chargers HC Brandon Staley said Friday that he's "hopeful" WR Mike Williams (knee) can play vs. the Ravens this weekend. Williams is listed as questionable after missing all 3 practices. "We were being careful with him early in the week," Staley said, adding that Williams has been dealing with swelling in that knee. We'll continue to look for updates on Williams' status and will get the Chargers' inactives around 11:30 am ET on Sunday.

7:22pm EDT 10/15/21

Seahawks RB Chris Carson has been placed on IR with his neck injury. He's out for at least the next 3 games. Seattle has a Week 9 bye, so Week 10 is the earliest we could see Carson back on the field. It's unclear if he'll even be ready then. Carson is certainly droppable if you're hard up for a roster spot. Alex Collins will serve as the Seahawks' lead back the next 3 weeks vs. the Steelers, Saints and Jaguars.

7:20pm EDT 10/15/21

The Seahawks placed QB Russell Wilson (finger) on IR. That knocks him out for at least the next 3 games. Seattle then has a Week 9 bye, so Week 10 is the earliest Wilson could return. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport recently called a Week 10 return the "best-case scenario" for Wilson. QB Geno Smith is in line to start the next 3 games vs. Pittsburgh, New Orleans and Jacksonville.
